Good luck. The best thing is to keep everything put away in cupboards and drawers, or sealed in boxes. The squirt bottle trick works when you are home, but when you are gone, it's another story. Cats are naturally curious and also naturally tend to climb into small spaces and hide out. They'll try to get into anything.
So, once you've cat-proofed your home, give the cats some of their own hangouts. It can be something as simple as a cardboard box with cat-size holes cut in it or something expensive like the cat trees that are out there. Hanging toys off of these is a big hit. You can make your own carpeted cat trees if you're feeling crafty. It's not too hard (email me if you'd like to know how).
Your cats will love you for livening up their environment and providing them with their own toys, and you'll not have to come home to as many things knocked off counters and chewed up or "missing".

Kitty proof as much as possible unless you can sit and watch their every movement. They are fast little buggers! You could spray them, but they go from getting into one thing and go to another and I would bet, after awhile they would be soaking wet..lol I just keep things up where they cant get to them, and only spray them when they get on the counter. Its so much more relaxing to know they just CANT get to anything. Plus if you give them plenty of toys and things to climb like a cat tree, they will have no use for your boring stuff anyhow :)

The muddle must be a kind they don't love, you could want to characteristic a litterbox, or you could want to sparkling it out extra many times, possibly they dislike the position that is? Rule of thumb is continually examine that there is no longer a actual reason first. Or placed them in a small room with purely their water, nutrients, toys and litterbox till they study, in the adventure that they loops, placed it contained in the litterbox.

Get a water bottle and every time they get into something, spray them! Eventually they'll get the hint!
