"They" say you can not eat or drink certain things, but this is rarely mentioned.

alcohol ( in moderation of course, if it is legal for your age) is not a problem.


they are worried about things like taffy, sticky caramel, hard candied apples.

ohmygaud, i had braces ut on when i was 25 and they came off when i was 31; and ah, yes, dear, i drank QUITE a bit at that time, not they made not a damn bit of differnece. The braces are good for straining the puke when you drink too much and hurl the next morning.- fear not; drink on... if you are of age, that is. other wise the truth is if youre young and drinking alki with braces on, they will ruin the enamel that needs to build up on the tooth at an important time in your life, so dont do it.

How old are u? If Ur teeth have finished calcifying, it should not hurt any worse than it does w/o braces on. But either way, its not the best thing to do for your general health. Stacy, RN
