Is there anything I have to do to prep it before I use it? Are there any special cleaning guidelines?

You heat the stone in the oven, then slide your pizza onto it with a paddle (or a flat cookie sheet works, too). Corn meal helps to keep the pizza from sticking and will allow you to slide it on and off easier.

To clean it, allow it to cool s l o w l y , then scrape it. Then rinse under warm water and allow it to dry. It will season over time naturally.

Nothing to prep. When you make the pizza, brush some oil over it if you want a crispier crust. Don't wash at all, just brush the crumbs off when you store it. The more you use it, the more "seasoned" the stone will be, and the more flavourful your pizzas will be.

You have ot make sure it is pre- heated well before u put the pizza on it, id say, 15 minutes in the oven for 15 minutes at 500 degrees farenheit. pizzas cook best in a really hot oven..
as for cleaning it, it is really hard,it gets all black spots all over it once u use it a few times and they are impossible to come out, just clean it best u can with hot water and those mesh things for dishes

Don't wash it. Brush it off. Pre-heat it in the oven b4 placing pizza on...it has to be HOT! I use one all the time and to me it's the "secret" for the perfect pizza! (uh...not anymore!)
