I called customer service but they came up with some bullshit excuse that I didn't make the payment on time.
First of all, I made a payment on 6/05 to cover the bill due at the 10th. Then made another payment on 6/14 to cover the bill for the upcoming bill since I was going on vacation to Mexico...now that I'm back I see this late payment...what should I do what are my rights?

of course this is a credit card. They are saying that I'm late for a bill due on 7/1 which was paid 6/14

Well, to be honest, they're always gonna give some bs excuse. If your bill is due the 10th, then make sure it gets there by the tenth. Our mail service isn't the best. But since your bill is due the 10th, no matter when you've mailed it, if they haven't recieved payment by the 10th, then you'll get a late fee. I hate Bank of America, and they'll call you up and really talk ugly with you. They did that so much, that I called the company and told them that I didn't want to recieve any more calls, or I would file a complaint on them with the local authorities. Then I found out my credit card was an unsecured credit card. So they kept on calling, then I quit paying. They threatened all kinds of stuff, and I told them to bring it on. But since it was an unsecured credit card, they have to eat it. It only dropped my credit rating a couple of points. So don't sweat it. Best of luck to you.......

Depends on which payment was late. If the one you made on 6/05 was the late payment, how did you make it? Did you pay online? Or mailed it in? If you mailed it in, if probably didn't have enough days to get their ontime since you only had 4 business days. If you sent it online, it should tell you when the payment was accepted. (Usually 2 business days).
If the payment on 6/14 was the late payment for the next billing cycle, they you made the payment too early and it was credited as a second payment for the previous month. You can call a CSR and have them look at the record and plead your case, you may be able to convince them.
Good luck.

How is your current credit rating? Pretty good?
No other late payments or problems?
Then use this as a weapon. Inform BOA that you do not agree to the late payment, and unless they remove it you will simply get another credit card and they will lose your business.
There are hundreds of other companies out there looking for your business.
And remember....according to that nice credit card agreement you signed, they have the right to increase your interest rate in the event of a late payment or over the limit charge. If you don't get this removed then kiss your current interest rate goodbye.

If you mailed them a check, then go to your bank and get a copy of the cleared check. It will show the date they deposited the check. It's possible that they made a mistake. Keep in mind though that they are not responsible for how long it takes the postal service to deliver the mail. They could have received it late.
If you paid online or over the phone, then they should have given you a confirmation number.

You have no 'rights' in a credit card agreement. They will soon be upping your interest rate to the 'deadbeat' rateos of 24-29.99%
Credit card companies are the crack dealers of money. Want to hear something that will really make you cry? They are lending you NOTHING. They create the money out of thin air and lend it to you at high interest.
Did you know that MBNA spends more in one month on new credit card offers than the whole industry looses in a year through bankruptcies.

Is this for a credit card payment? Loan payment? Did you mail them a check, do a direct transfer?
