Anything that controls you is a sin.
well that would make christianity a sin wouldn't it?
I like that idea but i pay no heed to christian dogma. its not because I'm immoral its because Ive learned to use my brain and realize not everything is black and white. I still beleive everything in moderation, but i no longer look at certain things as evil because i learned to take off the spiritual blinders.

Jesus was speaking about the belief that certain foods are "unclean". His point was that it isn't what you eat or drink, it's how you act and speak that are clean or unclean.
With drugs or alcohol, there is a tendency for the substance and the experience to substitute for God in the person's life. This is the problem with those things, for at least some people. I don't think that drinking or getting high are intrinsically sinful; it's just that they can lead people away from God.
In other words, if having a beer after work doesn't get in the way of your relationship with the Lord, it isn't sinful. If your drinking does get in the way, then it's sinful. That's just my opinion; I'm not a theologian.
Best wishes and God bless.

All addictions to drugs, alchohol etc are actually the results of devil spirit influence and possession. And when Jesus Christ was referring to what goes into and out of the mouth he was refering to food going in, and the thoughts and intents of the heart coming out. For out of the mouth come forth the issues of life.
As for which is the actual sin, if the LOVE of money is the root of all evil and not the money itself, what would be the sin in the addiction?
The answer, the spiritual obseesion that is causing it. Which is a form of idolatry if not corrected as it leads people to open themselves up to spiritual possession and bigger and worse devil spirits.

people speak from their heart. evil heart speaks of evil things. hate speaks hate. Love speaks love. the addiction is not a sin, it is a disease. The things that stand between you and God are sins. If drugs and alcohol keep you from praising and worshiping God, then these things have become idols to you. If you feel like you can't go through your day without a hit or a shot then you need to let God give you the strength to overcome these addictions.

The Bible says your Body is like a temple to God, everything you eat and do should Glorify God, doing drugs doesnt glorify God. It also says that strong drink will make a fool of you( and fools also break the laws of God, breaking the laws of God is sin, so Achohol or strong drink causes sin).

Jesus is speaking for God and god is the one who made us and know what's best for us. Alcohol and drugs are bad for humans and no reasonable person can deny it. Let's say hypothatically it isn't a sin, would God want you to harm yourself?
Answer my question and you'll get the right answer.
