I like the verse in Hebrews that reads: "faith is being certain of what we hope for, and certain of what we do not see".

Also, "faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God".

Have you read and studied the bible? Do you take God at His word, in spite of what the world may tell you?

That is faith.

When you have a changed life. There will be your life before you accepted Jesus, and life afterward, which will be very different. My co-workers and family saw a change in me. My heart was different.
II Corinthians 5:17: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come.

Many people use the word faith blindly, but it actually means to have trust in, confidence in or to believe. I know that is so becuase when I do so I am trusting his word and it comes to pass. When I pray I get answers. When I minister I get results, and when I talk to him he answers me.

Romans 4:5 says "But to him who does not work but believes on Him who jusitifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness".

This means when a Christian believes he/she has been made righteous by God not by his/her own good works, God sees that act of believing (faith) as his/her righteousness.

In other words, when you believe you are righteous by the blood of Jesus, God equates that to having faith.

How did we become righteous? 2 Cor 5:21 says "For He (God) made Him (Jesus) who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (Jesus)."

A divine exchange took place on the cross - Jesus took all our sins and was punished for all our sins; Jesus kept all of God's laws to qualify for righteousness and gave this righteousness to us as a gift.

Heb 11:6 says "without faith, it is impossible to please God". That means, God is pleased only when you believe you are righteous by the blood of Jesus.

Matt 6:33 says "seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all the things the Gentiles seek will be added to you". Jesus was telling the people to seek after the righteousness that He was going to give them by His work on the cross, in order that God can provide everything they need. In fact, in the preceeding verse, God says is saying there is nothing wrong with having all the things which the Gentiles seek after, because He knows His people need them too. But He does not want them to strive for these things like the Gentiles, but rather He wants to provide these things for them by them believing that He will give them His righteousness to qualify for His blessings.

I shall end by quoting Rom 5:17, that "those who receive the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ"!
