While I personally believe that suicide is never the answer to life's troubles, I can understand how grief on that level could lead someone to such an action.
If anyone reading this, or the author are having thoughts of suicide, have a plan or ideations of suicide, remember that there is more to life than the here and now, and more than the next few years. Seek counseling, talk to your physician, or another health care professional. There is a way out, depression, and grief are both very real, you can get through anything with help.

One, I hope this does not apply to you Larry. People who commit suicicde often feel alone and like they have no other options. We live in very stressful times. Think of the pressures presented by family, job, financial, peers... Even some aspects of religion tend to make one feel guilty. But it always seems worse than it really is. For a guy who just lost his wife and mother within a short time span I am sure he feels abandoned and alone. The two primary female figures in his life are gone and I imagine there are feelings of guilt, betrayal and abandonment. The important thing to remember is that life goes on even when we don't think it can and it's important to focus on the good things in life rather than the bad things no matter how little those things seem to be.

That it is sad he didn't think he had other options. Suicide is never a good option but some people feel trapped. There are always places to go and people to talk to, there are other people who have gone through the same stuff and survived.
I don't think it is weak it is just hard for some people men and women to deal with such emotional issues.

I think that if this hasn't happened yet they need prayer. I have already been praying for you. Find the one thing that never fails you- God. You may fall in your walk with Him, but He is there 24/7. You have probably heard this before, but if you are at rock bottom, sometimes this is what is needed to find a personal relationship with God. Find a biblical church and talk to the pastor. This is not a quick fix. This is a permenant fix!!!

I feel sad for them. Because they felt they had to end their life under those circumstances. Nothing is worth throwing your life away. I see them as lost because they couldn't find joy that this life can offer. I also see them as selfish because they can't see past their own pain to see how it would affect all the loved ones they left behind. I think suicide is a slap in God's face ( if Christian) and he will have to answer for it.

i think that he is a man that is lonely & needs to talk with someone. it doesn't matter who...anyone....that will just be an ear could possibly save this persons life. and, a stranger is here to tell this "man" that things really suck so bad right now, but it will get better. HE can change his life...but if he chooses to kill himself, then he can change nothing...EVER.
he needs to really think about this...it hurts yes, but it will be gone, not soon, but it will be gone.
besides, if he believes in Heaven, and that his mother is there, then suicide SURELY will guaranee he will never be with her again. is that what she would want? that would be selfish of him to make that choice, not only for him, but for his mother...for if he does this, she surely will never see her again.
take care...and remember, it can get better. not overnight, but it will be there one day.

I don't believe people suicide over a relationship. I do believe that an already depressed person can suicide following a stress such as divorce. What's the difference? If your life depends so much on another that you literally can't remain alive, there is no solution. If you have the disease of depression, there is treatment. You can't avoid the pain and sadness of a divorce, but you can overcome it.

That they don't live to a man standards. A man has to learn how to live witha adversities and after a while, he will learn that problems are just challenges and that there is always going to be challenges in life. So, go on my friend.
