It is common for babies to have turned in feet...consider the position in the uterus...it is tight! However, without seeing the type and degree of inward turning it is hard to say why it has occurred.

This article, though in medical-ese, has some good pictures so you may be able to identify the type of turning, though if you are concerned or if your feet are still turned, then seek the advice of a pediatrician.

Things like this are hereditary. If your foot still turns inward, you may want to bring this to the attention of your pedi MD so that steps can be taken to make sure that her feet are straight. Feet that turn in can cause joint problems later in life.

It is probably hereditary, but fear not! With special exercises and special baby shoes, her feet will straighten out just fine. My little sister was born the same way, and after a few years of exercising her feet and using special shaped baby shoes, she's just fine now at almost 21! There is hope, no worries!

Possibly hereditary. The baby usually inherits half and half of the parents traits and being so lucky she was blessed with the inward feet. but she may inherit other traits from diff relatives in the fam.

Could be heredity. But pediatrician told me with my kids it was the way they were positioned when I carried them during pregnancy. But my feet were turned inward too.

It's a simple thing though to take care of. Your daughter may just need to wear a brace for a bit. Had two kids go through that.

It is a little of both.
Don't wait to start fixing the problem. Some doctors say you have to wait until the baby is walking, but that is not true.
I had my feet fixed with braces and corrective shoes before I could walk and the doctor that saw me said that if my mom had waited, I would have problems with my hips and back.
See a Podiatrist (foot doctor). It should be covered by medical insurance. Especially if your pediatrician refers you.

I have two boys when they were very young had to have corrective shoes due to this problem. Talk to your child's Pediatrician about this. The Dr. will most likely refer you to a Orthopedic Specialist.
