Chickens, chickens, and more chickens . . .?

This is for my friend Savannah, who is, like, TOTALLY obsessed with chickens, so she wants to know if anyone else feels the same way.

I don't know about chickens, but whenever I see a really fat pidgeon I want to throw things at it. Same with turkeys, I want to throw a shoe at them.

Yes I love my chickens. I have some hybrid hens for egg laying and some fancy bantams which are rare breeds. I show my Bantams and I show the eggs. I have some which lay white eggs and some which lay brown and some which lay pale blue eggs. I have Silkies which make excellent broodys and some rare breeds which make bad mothers as they never go broody so the Silkies hatch those chicks out. I go to shows and show my eggs and I nearly always get some prizes. Once I got best in section and got a lovely rosette. I can bore the pants off people talking about chickens and eggs.

My son loves chickens more than anyone. He had a silkie that lived in the house named Hoover, he was our guard chicken, he would attack anything that came into our yard. He had a featherless chicken named Chick Filet that he taught to ride a miniature skateboard. Julia was one of his favorites, she would take a nap with him if she was inside. He's grown now but he still talks about all the special chickens that we had and hopes to get more oneday.

Yes, I am also. I love chickens....BBQ'd, baked, breaded, deep fried, fried, broasted, rotisseried, chicken salad, Shake & Bake, Chicken Helper.....
