There is a brand new pill out that claims to DOUBLE the quit rates of other nrt's. She should ask her doctor about it.

I'm 24 weeks pregnant today. When I found out I was pregnant, I was 7 weeks. I smoked until I was 14 WEEKS!!!!! I felt so guilty every time I smoked (I did cut back big time) and finally the guilt took over and I quit. You can do it, too! trust me! I'm a SMOKER. An every day smoker, not just an occasional smoker. If I can do it, so can you! Eventually you will start feeling so bad for your poor little baby in there.

My Hubby finally quit, after 37 years of smoking. He got bronchitis, really bad.

And just quit cold turkey! He is going on 2 months now, he is starting to get back his sense of smell and taste now.

He has not gained any weight. He sucks on hard candy,"Jolly Ranchers" instead of smoking.

I am so proud of him!

His Dad died of Mouth and Lung cancer 16 years ago at a very young age, I had always hoped that he would quit after seeing what his Dad went through, but it never did.

He just one day made up his mind that he was stronger than the smokes and just dropped them.

I admire his strength!

I have been smoking for almost 16 years and I am trying the cold turky thing.. which I have to say sucks, but better for me in the long run. I have known people who have tried hypnotism and have had it work. I am slightly skeptical, but who knows it may be worth a try.

Sorry I'm not a woman to answer this but she might try hypnosis. A friend of mine's father, who had smoked for almost that long I think, went to one hypnosis session and never smoked again.

i smoked for about 15 years and tried to quit many times, but you really have to be ready to quit in order for it to work. i was only successful at quitting cause im pregnant and don't want to harm the baby.
