Good question. Friends with benefits is a sexual term meaning you have casual sex with a good friend without the benefit of a relationship or marriage with him/her. Platonic friends do not have sex at all - in fact no kissing or hugging, just friendship, and usually not a close friendship. Good luck.

platonic friendships mean that there are no sexual intentions with that person and hopefully that person knows that they are at a platonic status with you; however " with benefits" there is sexual involvement, with the possiblity that there will be no long-term relationship in the future, just depends on what you and that "friend " has discussed. Hopefully that person ( or you) know exactly which category they fall in. Usually, "with benefits" you do everything as a couple, however nothing ever pans out, like meeting mom and dad... good luck!!

Friends with benefits is the same as f*ck buddy, but platonic friends can be affectionate towards each other, like a quick hug or peck on the cheek, but that's that. Crazy, isn't it?

A platonic chum is one you're acquaintances with in common words for the friendship itself... you frequently don't have romantic or sexual thoughts for them. once you've a chum with reward you've a sexual charm between you and fool round with them in some sexual way. there is no romantic thoughts between you, although. nicely- there is not meant to be... regardless of the very incontrovertible actuality that typically that's the way it finally ends up.
