#1) LOTS of water
#2) Depending on the type of stone, changing the pH of the urine with a medicine like Urocit-K may help.

Kidney stones are formed due to an over abundances of certain minerals such as Calcium Oxalate, or Uric Acid. I f you pass a stone it scold be analyzed to see what the mineral contain is , then your Doctor, usually a Urologist can prescribe medication to reduce that mineral. If you drink pop and soft drinks, stop they are the worst for stone formers. Also drink lots of water and exercise. Good Luck.

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.

They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!

This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.

It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.

I had kidney stones and was making too much calcium, the problem was a growth on the parathyroid gland. Could that be your issue?? Ask the doctor to check that out.I had an endocrinologist diagnose me.

My husband used to get them yearly or bi- yearly. This went on for 5 years. The docs said diet is not a factor.. it's just how your body deals with calcium. We used to live in Michigan.. once we moved he stopped getting them. Now we think it was something about the water that must have been the problem.. high calcium content. I wish you luck resolving your problem.

Drink more liquids and maintain the prescribed diet from your doctor. Other than that, there is NOTHING you can do. Some types of stones are genetic, and you're just stuck with them.
