That depends. Do you receive your local channels over the air, or with a seperate dish?

If it's over the air with an HD antenna I'd need to know which HD receiver you're getting from Dish. I'm pretty sure your Samsung doesn't have an ATSC tuner built in, so running it through your Dish receiver would be the only way to view the local channels in HD but not all receivers offer that function.

If Dish offers local channel service in your area then you won't need any additional equipment.

Dish network would be able to tell you for sure, but if you are getting the channel through Dish Network, and Dish Network supports HD you will probably get your local stations in HD.

You may get the local stations in HD even without DN's help if the only way that station broadcasts is in HD.

I dont think you'll get your local channels through Direct TV, I bought an antenna for them, but it still wouldnt hurt to ask, they may be an extra charge on your bill though.
