It is usually 1 of 2 things: worms or anal gland problems.

My pom scoots his bum across the floor now and again. It is something dogs do naturally to try to pop their anal glands.
If your dog hasn't stopped doing it in a day or two, take her to the vet to get the gland popped. Otherwise, it will become infected and nasty.
Some people pop the gland on their own but, personally, I'd rather pay the $30 to take my dog to the vet rather than stick my finger up there!

I would bring your dog to the vet and get it checked out. Dragging the back end can be a sign of hip displasia. Look into the breed and see if there is a history of this is the dogs family if it is this it could get really spendy and really painful for the dog.

The anal glands need expressing. We have a small dog and his need it about once every two months. A vet will usually do this for $10.00. It could be worms but I doubt it.

most likely worms, as everyone has mentioned. this may sound gross, catch some of her stool and put it in a jar or ziplock bag; take it to the vet when you go. they will be able to do a fecal exam and determine if she does have worms or not.
lastly, make sure you wash your hands thorougly. worms can be transmitted easily.

Mine too. See, dogs have scent glands around the inside of their bottoms. When they drag their butts on the floor, it means it's time to have the glands squeezed, otherwise your dog will start smelling bad. we usually take our dog to the vet for this every four months or so.

chances are she does have worms. take the poor little thing to the vet. they will give you some drops to feed her orally that will clear that up. also check to be sure that there areany fleas or other critters biting her rear. possibly also her anal glans could be irritated. get her checked!

It very well could be worms. She could have impacted anal glands. That is how they relieve the pressure from that. When you take your dog to the groomers, they usually drain those.
