Time for a new microwave. Painting with the wrong paint could contaminate your food.

i'm not an expert but paint has been lead or metal free since ages for safety purposes.. so i would just do it.. all it is now adays is water based coating.. so i would definatly try it.. i'm almost certain it would be just fine. just make sure when you go to the paint store that you get metalic free pain. if you hate your microwave you've got nothing to lose\
good luck.

No.

Wel, you can but it would make your oven unsafe. Not only because of metal in the paint, also the fumes that will be set free will poison your food. The paint will burn.

Absolutely not. THe paint they use is not paint as you know it. It is more like a plastic coating
