I agree with you completely. Love is love, no matter what.

I personally try not to write hate filled emails to people cause it's not my job to judge or change anyone. Before I became a Christian I didn't even know about homosexuality but after I became a Christian the Lord exposed me to these things to show me that people are just people and all anyone ever wants is to be loved and respected and to not be looked upon with hate or be discriminated against. I personally have had a few gay friends in my life and I have dated outside of my race more than a few times. I believe that when the Bible talks about being against interracial marriages they mean of different faiths that would take them away from Him.

some of the less intelligent types say that gay marriage is forbidden in the bible... They are wrong and are showing their ignorance by not reading the text they thump to no end.
no where in the bible does it say that homosexuals can or cant MARRY.... Nor does it say anywhere that interracial marriage is wrong.
It is time to stop worshipping stories and accept the fact that there are many different beliefs and not everyone thinks alike. Misquoting a storybook is worse than the so-called "sin".
Love is love, and people need to leave it alone. no one is given any right to govern human love.

It's interesting that you lump these ideas together. I see no foundation in the Bible to support interacial marriage as "sin." Certainly the Jews were told to remain separate from the surrounding cultures in the Old Testament, and when they did not, they usually found themselves following the gods of their neighbors, displeasing God, and suffering many consequences like oppression and slavery. In the New Testament we are given a "New Covenant" different from the Old Testament Law in that the earlier convenant was for the Jewish people, but the new covenant is for all who choose to follow after Jesus Christ. Under the new covenant "there is no Jew nor Greek, no male nor female, neither slave nor free." Followers of Jesus are NOT told not to intermarry with people of different races; they are simply warned not to intermarry (or become "yoked") with unbelievers.
What about gay marriage? The behavior of homosexuality is what is classified as "sin" in the Bible. Having the desires is not sin. Meditating on and acting on those desires is sin. That may seem like a silly difference, but it applies to all sin. For example, if I have a passing sexual thought about a man who is not my husband, that in itself is not sin. If I harbor that thought and mull it over, that becomes lust in my heart, which is sin. If I act on that thought and pursue a sexual relationship outside of my marriage that is the sin of adultery (and it would be sin whether I have that relationship with a man or a woman). So, assuming "gay marriage" would include "gay" sex--that part would be sin. There are those who follow Jesus Christ and say they feel that they are homosexuals (that's where their desires lie) and yet choose to live celebate lives to honor God with their bodies. Hmmm self-denial is so much NOT a part of our culture today.
But since you "don't think gay marriage or interracial marriage are sins," what is your criteria or standard for determining if something is or isn't sin?

Well, I am not sure what the question is, but I think that if a person or persons want to form a legal union and those persons can give informed consent, boy howdy, let them do it. Marriage is a legal affair, not a religious one. Fact is, three or more people want to get married all to each other, fine by me. No skin off my nose. Just as long as all are legally adults and not impared in judgement.
Peace to you, too.

People that are against gay marriage are sad individuals...they are insecure with their own sexuality and seriously need to minf their own business
Gay people are going to be together regardless of what right-wing bible thumpers think anyway...
I believe gay marriage should be legal in all states...If they love each other, let them be...I have known many gay people that are happier than most straight couples I know.
By the way, I have met many children from gay households that are the most well-rounded, free thinking people I have ever had the pleasure to meet.
And to add:
The so-called "God" never said he didn't agree with it...if he did, I didn't hear him/her.
Men wrote the Bible, not god

Just for the record, you don't know your scriptures. Sin is defined in the Bible. The gay lifestyle is described as sin. Inter-racial relationships are not bad in and of themselves but mixing faiths is. In the days that the scriptures were written, nations were divided more than just by terrain, but by belief systems. In order for inter-racial marriage to be accepted in the Old Testament the woman was required to commit herself to the Jewish faith. Other immigrants were converted and freely married Jews.

If God condones something, HE IS DISGUSTED WITH IT.
Romans 1:18-32 exposes homosexaulity and the reason WHY people believe in it.
God says He hates the act. It goes against the natural procreation of man and woman in marriage.
God wants them to REPENT. Gay marriage is not approved by God. It makes NO difference what man thinks or believes from personal opinion.
God is the ultimate judge. If He says it's wrong, IT IS WRONG.

I never assumed you were. Your question was forward and direct on the interracial marriage part. However, by saying "like gay marriage", you sort of set yourself up for misinterpretation by others.

If you are a Bible believer, there are several passage that speak out against homosexuality, If you aren't a Bible believe then this discussion is moot.
However I agree with you on interracial marriages. I know of no passages that speak out on this subject.
