I spend it where I make it.
I have always preferred american products (cars and other items) over foreign products. Of course, with more jobs going over seas, its getting harder to find american made products.
If you are worried about fuel economy, there some domestic vehicles that are just as economical as foreign cars.
Buy American, better yet, buy union.

Get a clue. Most Toyotas, Hondas and Nissans are built here in America by American workers. They are superior in quality. So called American cars are assembled a lot of the time in Canada and Mexico.

Um no. Plus depends what you're looking for. If you're looking for durable cars that will last long and are pretty much safe... American cars are better.
If you're looking for cars that will look cool if you trick them out with mod kits and cool paint jobs. then go for a japanese car.
IMHO I like european and american cars because most apanese cars are built to cheaply and have crappy crash test ratings.
Chevys and Dodges are the best.
P.S. um.. I live in chicago and there is a Ford plant about ten minutes from me. plus detroit is the "Motor City" so you know you're getting stuff thats built in america.

Ford and Toyota are the only 2 "A" businesses. there is quite no longer a lot of an over all distinction in reliability between American and jap autos because it varies between fashions. u.s. has placed out some particularly undesirable autos yet so has Japan, even as together the both placed out some quite fanastic autos. If I had to set them except for an added, i'd say that jap autos are better effecient and compact, the position as american autos are safer and mushy (better room/higher autos). value distinction, ought to easily be the decision for for american autos has dropped perchance?

I think you're missing a big point. Those cars are made in America by Americans.
The Honda plant is in Ohio. Toyota's largest plants are in Indiana, Texas and Kentucky. Subaru is made in Indiana. Mercedes-Benz is made in Alabama.
What's an American car? Ford? Oooops. They have a plant in Mexico. GM? Ooooops. They have plants in Canada.

Yes, they just do it better. We Americans need to take note and improve!
I love my Honda Accord! So much nicer than my Acheiva and Chevy Blazer.
Real leather seats, big engine, great gas mileage, great sound system. So many accessories.
So smartly made.
