So why is everyone always saying I am not Christian?

Of course Yahoo! doesn't define God or religion!
What is meant is "How can you believe this_ and this_ at the same time?

Wow, reading these comments, it's amazing how many people have said things about members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints that either just aren't true, or are pulled so far out of context that they're hardly recognizable. Hey, it's okay, this isn't the first time I've been told I'm going to hell.

But it's also enlightening. I see that different people include or exclude us from their definition of Christian because of their standard of measure of what makes a Christian. People who think that to be a Christian is to accept Jesus Christ as one's savior and redeemer have no problem saying I'm a Christian. People who use some specific doctrinal rules say I'm not, but I guess under those rules a lot of denominations other than their own wouldn't be considered Christian.

Oh well, I am going to continue to call myself a Christian, I know that might offend some of you a little bit, but you know, being told I'm not a Christian offends me a little bit too.

I don't "think" it ~ I KNOW it .. because the additional books followed by Mormons,
and the invented "third testament" are contrary to all the teaching of the real Jesus
Christ. What He taught the apostles was sufficient until He returns for His church.

He warned about "false Christs" and His word forbade the adding of any more to it.
Neither did Jesus or His apostles ever teach "trinity" ~ it was unknown for the first
300 years of the early original church, but the "Latter Day Saints" went further than
the Roman trinitarians ~ teaching they will see three separate gods in heaven!

Also note that the fantastic numerics woven into God's word ~ all the multiples of
His complete number "7" ~ are nowhere to be found in Joseph Smith's writings ..
They are only on every page from Genesis 1 through 66 books to Revelation 22,
On the last page of which, Jesus Christ says in Rev 22:18-19 :~
"For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if
anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written
in this book; And if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this
prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy
city, and from the things which are written in this book."

Well, the true definition of Christian according to the bible, not the book of Mormon is as follows

You would have to believe that Jesus came to this earth as a new born infant, conceived through the holy spirit in the virgin mary.

You would have to believe that his sole purpose on this earth was to be the perfect lamb of sacrifise for all our sins.

You would have to believe that he died sinless on the cross at calvary and arose again on the third day and now sits at the right hand of the father.

You must believe that Jesus, GOD and the holy spirit are one, as this is the way that the virginal birth and the sacrifise for us took place.
If you believe that Jesus was just a flesh and blood man who became a GOD via his sacrifice, you could not be a Christian according to the bible. For Jesus said, I am in the Father, and the father is in me. Pretty much an absolute that they are ONE.

Yahoo does not define Christian, or God. People "know" that Mormons are not Christians because of their beliefs. They believe that Satan and Jesus are brothers. That God lives on Kolob and has a wife and they make a spirit for every human born. There is too much wrong with Mormonism. Christians are not being ugly to them, they are just trying to tell them they belong to a cult that will seen them all to hell.

If you consider yourself a Christian, you should leave your Mormon Tabernacle immediately. Remember this all things must be tested. The only thing that you should trust on faith is that Jesus is the Messiah, and GOD. He will come again in GLORY to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom shall have no end. Straight from the Mouth of the Messiah," Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many. Matthew 24:11

Mormons are not Christian because they believe that Jesus came back recently to the United States. It this were to have happened then all Christians would be in the new heaven/new earth and everyone else would be in eternal punishment/seperation from God.

From what I understand, people use the following arguements that mormons (I'm one) are not Christian.
1. We don't believe in the same Christ (Jesus and Satan are brothers.)
2. We don't believe in the Triune God (We believe that Jesus and Heavenly Father are two seperate individuals, one in purpose)
3. They think we are polytheistic, that we worship more than one God. (Instead, we only worship one god, but recognize the existence of other gods)

I look to Jesus Christ for my eternal salvation and know that He is the only way to receive it. I believe that qualifies me as a Christian.

Just because someone says they believe in Jesus, it doesn't make them a Christian. Jesus Christ himself said:

"Not everyone saying to me 'Lord, Lord,' will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will" - Matthew 7:21-23

True Christianity entails more than just recognizing that Jesus is 'Lord'. True Christianity entails believing in what Jesus taught and acting in harmony with those teachings, or as the scripture above stated, 'doing God's will'. Mormon beliefs stray greatly from Bible teachings.

Is Mormonism Christian? http://www.carm.org/lds/lds_christian.htm

A quote from Adam Robinson:

“I’m certainly not going to base my eternal salvation on someone who is lying. This is why I am not going to be a Mormon. The Book of Mormon says a lot of things about history that happened in Central America, even in the past 2000 years. Can I tell you this? There is not one shred of archeological evidence for anything that is recorded in the Book of Mormon. You can write to the Smithsonian today and ask them, ‘Do you have any evidence from anything recorded in the Book of Mormon, anything even remotely close?’ And they will say, ‘We don’t have anything, sorry. We’ve been digging there for years and haven’t found a thing.’ Meanwhile, events that happened 3000 years earlier and we still have archeological evidence. That is a good enough reason for me to look at the Book of Mormon and say, ‘You are not true.’”

I'm not an expert on Mormonism or traditional Christianity in general, but I know there are differences in the belief about the Trinity and the nature of Jesus. This site is very informative:
