To the native who says that "functionar" is a word in spanish... man, the word is FUNCIONAR. you are forgetting Spanish!! :p

I got here a little too late to be of any help that wasn't already offered, but I can warn you that functiona is the best translation for "to work" / coming from latin's function sirve is a close one, but a Native speaker would be more likely to use functiona and expect it as well.
