OK, this is a point people make: Illegal immigration is great for the economy.

Now, while the argument that the ends do not justify the means is valid, this argument is an out-and-out LIE by the liberal left to brainwash people into thinking that they should spport lawbreakers.

I am living proof. I own a landscpaing business. I have almost 20 people under me.

NONE of them are illegal immigrants. MANY are LEGAL immigrants.

I refuse to hire people who are not allowed, legally, to work in this country.

Now, my prices are a bit higher, but we do better quality work and as a result, we get many referrals. Also, I pocket less money to treat my workers fairly. Sure, I don't make a HUGE salary, but I make enough to provide for my family.

If EVERY business did this, if EACH owner hired Americans and people who are LEGALLY allowed to work here, think how great this economy could be (and it is good now).

Do you still think we need illegals for our economy???

It's illegal for a company to hire illegal immagrants. So....assuming a company is following the law, then deporting illegals should not effect thier business from the employee perspective. If they do lose workers....shouldn't they be punished for participating in illegal business practices?

If everybody hired legals and paid them min wage or better, prices would go up. There are alot of people that pay very little to illegals. Some use fake IDs (do any of yours?) to appear legal.
Moreover, there are alot of trades/jobs where illegals (maybe even legal immigrants) have depressed the wage market in some areas since they're willing to work for less (e.g. carpenters).

Forgetting wages for a second, we now have 11-20 million illegals (assuming we believe the estimates). That has built up over time. If you suddenly get rid of them (not a chance of it happening), we'd have a labor shortage.

I'd say we don't need illegals-- we need the labor (legal people), we need to change immigration policy, we need Mexico and other countries to get their act together so they don't HAVE to come here to survive and make a decent living.

Many situations comprise our economy. The fact that you have based your grandstanding conclusion on your small cottage business, has little merit on the greater scale of USA ecnonomics with respect to low skilled laborers. I doubt if your political statement makes an inroad into the administrations at the Big Cottage (White House) and their views. It's nice that you do not complain about being out in the elements, though. Most lawn businesses such as yours can be a cash business, so the tax bases may still suffer.

Sure our economy is doing great if you ask the Illegals and contractors who hire them. They take the place of legal workers and feed their families back in their home countries. Crime rates rise to keep the police working hard, contractors and companies that hire them make more money and pay fewer benefits and lower wages. I htink it makes great sense to come up with the excuse that they do the jobs that most Americans won't do. After all I didn't grow up running around during the summer looking to mow lawns and trim bushes just so I could have money to see a movie, or buy a bike, or ice cream and soda. I just asked my rich daddy for the hard earned money he made. Now that I've grown up I don't have to work for a living because I collect welfare and cost the overburdened taxpayers tons of cash they could be saving for their childrens college.
VIVA THE ILLEGALS...............HANG EM ALL

First off, do not blame this entirely on Liberals. I am a Democrat and I do agree with you. I believe anyone not legal to be in this country should not be permitted to work here. Hiring cheap illigitimate immigrants I always thought was a way for businesses of questionable ethics to save money. I also believed it was the Republican Conservatives who represented big business and thus big money. And it is GW's stance on illegal immigrants into this country right now that is highly questionable. I do not think we refer to him as a Liberal.

If I were you, I would advertise the fact that you don't hire illegals. With the public getting fed up with the illegals, it could even promote more business. Look what it did for that guy in PA, all he did was put a sign up asking people to speak english, lines to get into his place are down the block. Good luck!

Never did. In fact, every business owner who hires illegals for "cheap labor" should be reported. This is just encouraging more people to come into America ILLEGALY. I have no problem with legal immigrants, but I do to illegals

Yes, the economic issue is a LIE.

We already have a "guest worker" program. It is called a GREEN CARD which people wait for YEARS to get by applying! If we send back the illegal aliens in this country and need more people to work, just issue more GREEN CARDS! Not like we would have to trick people into coming to the US. They're waiting by the millions to try to get here!

Stupid frickin' congress!
