The Biblical description of the flood in Genesis chapter 6, 7 and 8 indicates that the deluge was universal and it destroyed every living thing on earth, except those present with Noah (pbuh) in the ark. The description suggests that the event took place 1656 years after the creation of Adam (pbuh) or 292 years before the birth of Abraham, at a time when Noah (pbuh) was 600 years old. Thus the flood may have occurred in the 21st or 22nd Century B.C.

This story of the flood, as given in the Bible, contradicts scientific evidence from archaelogical sources which indicate that the eleventh dynasty in Egypt and the third dynasty in Babylonia were in existence without any break in civilisation and in a manner totally unaffected by any major calamity which may have occurred in the 21st century B.C. This contradicts the Biblical story that the whole world had been immersed in the flood water.
Remember

The Qurânic presentation of the story of Noah and the flood does not conflict with scientific evidence or archaeological data; firstly, the Qurân does not indicate any specific date or year of the occurance of that event, and secondly, according to the Qurân the flood was not a universal phenomenon which destroyed complete life on earth. In fact the Qurân specifically mentions that the flood was a
localised event only involving the people of Noah. Quran is the real word of God. Remember There is no god but Allah, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon Him) is the Messenger of Allah. note: Allah is an arabic word meaning God. (Peace be upon Him) is used in respect for our beloved Prophet. It is illogical to assume that Prophet Muhummad (peace be upon Him) had borrowed the story of NOAH (PBUH) AND THE FLOOD from the Bible and corrected the mistakes before mentioning it in the Qurân.

I like that...the way to spread your religion is nott by bashing others....thats why a Christian will tell you you are doomed to Hell for not believing....

So this is good evidence that the story of Noah is false. But there is even more evidence, that only needs consideration and mental thinking - just think of the logistics of housing, feeding and cleaning up after two of each andd every species of animal on earth. Impossible. Also, how do you house animals that are natural enemies?? Wouldnt the two dogs on board have killed the two cats? And the cats - didnt they eat some of the birds of board?? How about the lions? Why didnt they eat some other animals??

The only answer is a magical one - God assisted Noah in cleaning shyt out of the stables and feeding the animals....yeah, God has nothing better to do with his time than clean up horseshit....after all, he had just flooded his last creation, so why not take a part time gig cleaning crap while the place dries out??

I'd just like to point out that using the Quran to prove that the Bible is incorrect or vice versa is a logical fallacy of circular reasoning. You cannot use the information in a book to prove that another book is true or untrue unless there are outside sources that support your claim. That's like me saying "I'm right!" and you ask why, and my answer is "because I said so!" How intelligent is that? There is more archaeological and scientific support for the books that make up the Bible than any other ancient historical writings and I can give you references for that, so until you can come up with something that shows that Allah is a logical God that doesnt use only "because I said so!" as His only answer, (with ALL due respect) then I dont see the point of your question.

Hmmm... looks like you really got your dates wrong there... "the First Intermediate Period (sometimes abbreviated as "FIP") can be considered to embrace the Seventh, Eighth, Ninth, Tenth, and most of the Eleventh Dynasty." According to this article, the Eleventh Dynasty starts at about 2125 BC and runs to about 1985 BC.

According to the most literal interpretation of the Old Testament and working through the calendars, we can calculate that the Flood was about 4,400 years ago. It's 2,006 now, so That puts the flood at 2395 BC (there was no "year zero).

What say we round it off to 2,400? That gives approximately 275 years--nearly three centuries, and longer than the United States has been around--for Egypt to grow to its level of the 11th Dynasty. Looking back at the same period of time from today, we'd go back to 1731--a year before the birth of George Washington.

You got the dates wrong. Sorry about that, chief!

You say that the Bible "suggests" that the flood took place at the same time that archaelogy "indicates" the civilizations of Egypt and Babylonia were in high gear.

Sorry, but "suggests" and "indicates" is hardly the language of "proof" that you claim to have.

You proved yourself wrong with one simple sentence.

"Thus the flood may have occurred in the 21st or 22nd Century B.C. "

MAY have, indicating nor direct knowledge or proof that it was EXACTLY then, making your post only a theory, only a rant, and nothing more. Try again.

No, you err. These is no scientific evidence to dispute the flood, only opinions, like yours. If there was no global flood, as you say science contradicts-then why do we find remains of marine life on all mountain tops? Do the marine animals fall up when they die, everything else falls down?

Hi Dai,
Do you realize that the Quran vouches for the bible and says that the scriptures are true and that the Quran is a supplement to the bible. Go read your Quran and then realize you should read the bible too.

i'm sure you know that the hebrew term for earth (as in "covered all the earth") can be interpreted to mean a region.

remember that humanity's interpretation of things in the bible does not always conform to what the writers intended. scriptures (even the koran) always undergo changes over time.

if you are one of the muslims who cannot believe that the koran has ever changed, please read the following link and remember that religion must change in response to new information.

peace! :^D
