You might want to see a professiona (psychologist) if this bothers you or in any way hinders you from enjoying a normal life.
Perhaps you are manic-depressive. Sometimes high on life, enjoying everything, then swinging to depression. I wonder why the desire for depression, though, because I think during the manic stage, people generally want to stay there. Maybe you are getting some recognition or friendship needs met by being deppressed..That is like my 42 yr old daughter. She has Borderline personality disorder. She tends to be manipulative with her depression. She does not seem to have manic phases. She (aside from the disorder) also enjoys a confrontation that includes yelling, screaming, kicking, biting, and hitting. She was originally diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder. She used some of the symptoms from that first diagnosis to get sympathy or attention. Now she can't use those so much any more.
I hope this helps. Good luck to you. Cheer up.

I personally think you like to be depressed for one reason:
If you're mostly depressed, it just makes the 'happy' times all that much better.
It brings you from a low to a super high.. then when you're done with the 'high' you go back to low.
The next high will be all the better, because you've been down.
Also, you're seeking attention, badly.

Yes it happens to me all the time but the thing about that is is that I can't figure out why but somehow I know how to control the feeling.
I guess it has to deal with how you feel. like if your lonely, you want to be depressed. but when your happy, I guess you want to be depressed 'cause it may make you safe.....if that makes any sense.
Well I know the best way to treat this feeling is to talk to someone or to just hang with one of your friends 'cause like this will make you calm and won't make you think about your depression. and on that note if you need to talk to someone I'm there....'cause I know that it hurts. 'cause i'm justa Kid, too!
Be Happy, and don't worry :)

You're depressed because somethings missing in your life. when you're happy, you want to be depressed because you know that somethings still missing and you don't want to be happy because you know you'll go right back to being depressed, and your mind is telling you that you should just go back to being depressed before you start thinking that you're happy. your mind doesn't want you to get your hopes up

You want to be depressed?
The problem there is poor self-esteem.
Check out Nathaniel Branden's website.
