Sincerely thank them and let them know that you can't thank them enough. And make sure you are there for them when they need a favor in the future. Knowing they have a friend that is there if they ever need anything will be the biggest form of gratitude you can give them!

Say, thank you. You don't 'repay' friends. Actually, he/she would not find it rude but it kinda would be. Just be a friend when he/she needs something.
