Actually, with the image that some religious people have of God(Left Behind series, 40 Virgins for suicide bombers, etc) There seems to be a lot of bad images of God around.

Actually, I think God just smiles at those who say they don't believe. In His eyes, we're all like infants. He believes in us.

There are really atheists. In fact, you're one of them. You don't believe in Zeus, Odin or Isis, right? Then you're an atheist with respect to those gods.
I'm an atheist with respect to Zeus, Odin and Isis, and also with respect to the christian god. So you see, we're both atheists -- the only difference is that I believe in one less god than you do.

Do you believe in "Zeus", "Thor" and "Santa Claus"? Or do you only have a very bad image of them? If you can answer this and your answer is that you don't believe in those, then there are atheists. Some people just don't believe in gods, even if some of them are popular these days.
Yes, I am atheist and it has nothing to do with "images" of any god, I just don't believe in the christian god or the islam god in the same way I don't believe in the nordic mythology.
I've been in danger as well (my bus almost got hit by an army plane fire in the Chiapas guerrilla and almost died in a car crash) and the god idea never came to mind, actually, all I worried then was to keep calm and alive. Some people just can't imagine this is possible.

Oh no. There really are atheists. I had a "bad" god when I was growing up. But after a few unexplainable coincidences occurred in my life and me doing much self improvement things, I went out and got myself a "good" God and life got much easier. But some people just like to think that they are the center of the universe and live life completely run on self will.

No? Then you are an atheist as far as zeus is concerned. Do you have a bad image of zeus, or do you just realize that it is a myth?
I feel the same way about your god. I do not see your god in a bad image, because like zeus, it is a myth.

Trust me, I'm an atheist. I don't hate or have a bad opinion of God. I see absolutely no reason to believe he exists. I wish he did. Life would probably be more interesting if magic was real. But... it's not.

I don't think that anyone is really atheist. Believing in God is something that is natural. It is something that instilled in humans from birth. Its part of our conscious. People that claim to be atheist, if they were every placed in a situation where they felt that there lives were in danger, (say for instance they are drowning) they would call on God for help. It is only natural, a study from one of the top universities was done on that.

I have no image of god. Yes, there are really atheists. I don't hate god, I don't resent god, I don't rebel against god. There is no god.

Actually many "atheists" don't believe in organized religion. Many are "agnostic deists", that is believe in God but don't necessarily believe in the one you happen to be pedaling at the time. Peace.

I read the Bible and most of it looks pretty bad to me.
