What is the technical definition of "Christian?"?

What are the basic beliefs that separate Christianity from other religions?

By all these defintions, the Curch of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is definitely Christian. Why does everyone seem to think we are not, though we believe as they do?

The actual word 'Christian' was an insult started by the people in Antioch to mock the followers of Christ. This is because to be a son of god you need to be born again and have the spirit of god in christ in you. This is called 'Christ in' hence Christian. The people of Antich were commenting on the fact that the nelievers were always talking about having Christ in them.
Wether you are a Mormon, Jew, etc is not what being a christian is all about. Nor has it anything to do with how holy you try to be or how pious you are. It has to do with following the lord jesus christ and being born of god.
There is no longer Jew or Gentile, only church (ekklesia - called out) of God.

This is a confusing WORD in the FAITH.

"Christian" mean's Christ-Like.
You can be a Child of GOD, and not be a Christian (Christ Like). That's why we will all be surprised at who made it to HEAVEN.
ALL Christian's are Children of GOD.
Walking in HOLINESS make's the difference between a Child of GOD and a Christian.
Very few Children of GOD make it to Christian Status, but we all make it to HEAVEN.
TECHNICLALLY, when you get Born-Again, you are are Christ Like (Christian) in your Spiritman. That dosen't change.
But to Walk like JESUS walked (Miracle's etc) and to talk like JESUS Talked (TRUTH), take's a lot of Time to Develope.
Reading your BIBLE, Praying, Fasting, Fellowshipping (Gathering and Assembing) so on, get's you up in the Spiritual REALM where you can Really be a Christian. Hope this helps. JLU (JESUS LOVE's YOU).

Jesus taught us
Find and teach his sheep!
To do this you have to search for people who will listen.
To do this you go where they are and talk about God's Kingdom, as he did.
In many cases you have to knock on doors.
Jesus said if you do it right, people will hate you as they did him.
He also said to go and make disciples.
So if you are a true Christian, you must do the above, and follow him...Christ=Christian. More below

Christains belive in Jesus' divinity. Christianity has a savior (Jesus) while other religions are man's attempts to save themselves (meditation, good works , etc.)
