Because they feel as long as they don't work, they can get anything free. Why would they work when the government keeps on offering free medical, food and money. They have it better off than the ones that do work and try to make ends meet

Yes, we have free healthcare in Canada but not necessarily prescription medicines.

The alternative is very hard for a civilized society to condone e.g. children without medical care, people who pay taxes and contribute to society not being treated for an illness.

Education is a right that is accepted in many places as is access to housing. It's part of human progress.

People don't have a right to free health care and medicine.
However, a society has the obligation of providing equal access to health services. In Canada, we have almost-free health care, but we still pay for pharmaceuticals. There are assistance programs for those who can't afford it.

It is in society's best interests to assure the health of its citizens. Multiple tier medicine, as practiced in the USA, is very costly. In Canada, there is one administrative worker for every 10 medical practitioners (doctors, nurses). In the US, it is 1 in 3. Think about that...

Eveyone wants good health and it is a desire of every normal creature that is cognizant of that fact. Some governments provide it, so it seems like it would be a good thing. Also, if there were free healthcare, pharmaceutical companies wouldn't bypass regulations just to make money to push their drugs on the market.

it is something inborn into the human beings, to take care of each other and see to one an others need. But if your are not a Jew, a Muslim or a Christian I understand that you might not be able to come to the rescue to an other person in need. It is inhuman not to do so. The ten commands of our Lord are guilty for all above mentioned religions. Read and understand, we ought to help each other and you can't take anything with you when you are leaving us for good. I have been told that there are more or less free medical care in the Scandinavian counties as well as in some European, but they do not spend their money on war affairs or do they?

Everyone should have access to healthcare.
But medicaid and medicare aren't working. People should have to contribute to their healthcare costs. Even if it's on an income tier.
I pay insurance premiums, doctor and RX copays.
I wish we had a national healthcare system... but too much greed in our country to allow it.

I don't think they feel they have the right, it is more that they NEED the health care. They obviously don't have the means to pay for it, or they wouldn't qualify for it. HELLO???

Does it bother you to have to pay a few bucks extra in taxes to provide kids with medical care? I mean we pay taxes for the most absurd things like new baseball stadiums or sending out million dollar robots to space that melt.

Get a life.

Elderly people are usually on Medicare. They are on a very tight living budget (as you will be to one day) and Medicare helps pay the Dr. for their visits and hospitalization.

We are intitled to have a healthy society....even if you are not rich.

We should have a system like Canada.....

Because that is what they've been brought up to believe....Sure you can get free heart surgery in Canada, you just have to wait 9 months for it, provided you're not dead.
