WHEN someone says, 'I believe only in what I can see,' he is not speaking literally. Actually, we all believe in things that we cannot see.

For example, at school you may have performed an experiment designed to prove the existence of a magnetic field. It may go like this: Sprinkle iron filings on a sheet of paper. Then place the sheet over the magnet. When the sheet is vibrated, as if by magic the iron filings bunch up near the magnet's poles and form into the pattern of the magnetic field. If you did that, could you actually see the magnetic field? No, but its effect on the iron filings is plain to see, giving you convincing proof that magnetism exists.

We accept without question other things that we cannot see. When we look at a beautiful painting or admire a fine sculpture, we do not doubt the existence of a painter or a sculptor. So when we contemplate a waterfall or gaze at a sunset, should we not be moved at least to consider the possibility that they are the work of a Great Artist or Sculptor?

4 out of ten scientists believe in a creator. I don't want to take up the whole page, so I am going to post a link that explains why some scientist believe.http://www.watchtower.org/library/g/2004/6/22/article_02.htm

Because there seems to be something compelling humankind to adhere to a certain standard of morals. In spite of the many differences in civilisations and cultures, every human society that has ever existed agrees that there is some kind of concept of fair play, honesty, and decency. The fact that humans perceive some kind of universal set of rules or concept of fair play and honesty, and that humans can also choose to follow these rules, and, additionally, that no human ever follows all the rules, points to the idea that maybe something beyond this universe wants us to be a certain way. Could it be that there is a God who wants us to be a certain way, and to uphold the idea of honesty, kindness, and decency? Even most atheists feel that there is some sort of moral "law" or order that should be respected. Why would anyone feel such a need to be honest and decent? Why is it such a strong feeling for most people? Could it be that there is a God that wants us to feel that strongly about right and wrong?

Without using the Bible, I will instead turn to Plato. Most people admire his writings, and he firmly believed that we as humans are finite beings. We cannot do anything that we want, or be in two places at once, etc. we are finite in every way, and we are aware of that. However, we can grasp an idea of an infinite being, one who is perfect in every way. It is not possible for a finite being to create, even if only in his mind, an infinite being, since we, the finite beings, could not ever know what an infinite being would be. Therefore, there must be an infinite being who makes known to us a priory that he does, in fact exist. In short, you and I could not imagine a God due to our limited thinking, so God must exist, because we do have an idea of him. A bit of Philosophy and Logic to help you out.

How about because there is beauty in the world? I mean, I know that there is a scientific explanation for the colors of the sunset and the appearance of the stars, but those only explain why they look the way that they do. They don't explain why it's enjoyable to look at them. Or how about that life arising on this planet is statistically improbable... doesn't mean it didn't happen by chance, but aren't we lucky that it did happen? By the way... I'm agnostic, but these are the things that make me stay open to the possibility of a god.

Because God said so.... I like the God Idea a lot better than a bunch of gasses and rock exploding in space. Making all species of everything out of rock and dust and gasses banging together now that to me is way out there... I really feel that we as humans and all the other species of the world are more complex than that... I feel it there wasn't a great Spirit and individual souls there would be no life. Everything has a soul it is the one thing that powers the shell we live in. Our body may return to ashes and dust but our soul will live for eternity and longer...

Because it gives you hope. It may seem silly to get in depths over, but here let me put you in a circumstance. Let's say your parents are getting a divorce or something really tragic happened and you don't know who to talk to. Well, if you believe in a "God" than you would know "he/she/it" would always be there to listen in prayer. It gives you a sense that you are never alone, you always have someone there. Also, when something you so badly love passes away, beleving in a God and an afterlife gives you a sense of hope that one day you will see that person again. No one can MAKE you believe, you do it for yourself, so you can have faith in somehting that will always be there with you.

Is any one person capable of creating the tools that we as a people have used over the centuries to build the vast world we live in today? I think it's too great a feet for any one man or any one group of people. However it's light duty for a God with greater power. Science cannot and has not explained everything....

Try separating Religion from Spirituality. I feel the creation of Nature is visual proof of a good and loving Higher Source. The innocence of a child, the perfection of a newborn, a sunset, the seasons, etc. Our use of five senses, the ability to feel emotions, and the list goes on. "God" is one of many words to given to the great guide, creator master. What kind of god (goddess) would you have?

Just go look at yourself. Do you wonder how all that is inside of you circulates and works in harmony to make you live? How did it do that? Who could make a miricle? And the world, space , beyond, how could it all come to work in harmony an a daily basis? Who did that? And your concious, why do you even have one? Why the guilt? Why the love? How come when you do bad, you know it? Why do you even exists? "Something" had to start it all~Was it our GOD? How come when you have nobody else to turn to , you turn to GOD? You never know GOD is all you need until GOD is all you've got.

Well, your going to believe what you want to, but I believe we need to believe and trust in Jesus Christ because we are all born into the slavery of sin. Jesus took all of our shame and guilt up on calvary so that we can be with God someday. Believe in God for freedom and for a new life in Christ, Jesus!
