supposedly in the old days god used to turn people into pillars of salt, drop napalm on bad cities (Sodom), flood the world (noah) and used to talk to people every weekend. He even proved his existance to some guy (Abraham I think) by setting his sticks on fire.

So how come he used to do all this but he never interferes any more. Not for at least 2000 years

Did people just have more of an imagination in the old days or has god just stopped interfering?

P.S. Rest In Peace Ray Charles!!!!

HEY, if your SAVED, you'd make a pretty good Evangelist. Very inventive bout' explaining thing's. Thing's changed when JESUS went to the CROSS, and Ratified the NEW TESTAMENT. GOD still HELP"S us, mostly by us Praying now.

p.s. You know what Evangelist's do???
They blow-in, blow-up and blow-out.
And there either stuffed or starved. JLU (JESUS LOVE"S YOU)...

in the old days is generally recorded in history books because God made covenants (contracts) with nations. In today's relationship with God, people are personally involved. History is still recording what God does in regard to Israel because Israel is basically the last country to have an active covenant with God. The U.S. based its inception on Biblical standards but has not made a covenant with Him. Regarding Israel, the Bible foretold what would happen and if you look at these predictions, they are holding true to the last detail. So God is still interfering for the sake of Israel even though nearly the whole world is set against them. Don't believe it? Check into the history of the U.N. votes in regard to Israel. Don't believe God interferes for Israel? Look into the conflicts initiated by their neighbors in the last 60 years. These recent (relatively) events have not been compiled into a unified work like the Bible, but the Bible was not compiled into a unified work until the council of Nicene hundreds of years after the last of the twelve disciples died.

This is why the Christians are to ticked off at the Press all over the world. They don't tell the truth about these things. They don't report the whole story and slant it toward the support of the Terrorists and the worst governments unless they are so far out there the story will lose merit for the organization reporting on it. Lately they've been walking such a fine line they have been caught reporting false documents as real, not reporting really bad events taking place within the political party they support, over reporting the bad events that take place in organizations and businesses and political parties they oppose.

No, he hasn't stopped intervening. He actually intervenes on a regular basis - it's just that it is not so obvious to the untaught eye. And he does not do so in such a flourish as before. Also, that isn't necessary - right now, that is. Soon enough however, the underlying issue will have been settled and he will intervene in mankind's affairs in a really big way - to the regret of most. Indeed, notice what his kingdom government is going to do as described at Daniel 2:44. Imagine - all earthly governments destroyed and no government left except God's righteous government.

Because he doesn't exist, and how do we know they WERE miracles. The thing with miracles is that they're meant to transend nature, isn't it also possible we haven't learnt enough about natural laws in order to make the judgment that they are supernatural in the first place
In medeavil times people thought water becoming Ice was a miracle, simply because they didn't understand it
Things like cancerous growths being healed, they happen but just because we are ignorant doesn't mean we should conclude God

How do you know that God doesn't interfere? Can you scientifically prove it? I believe he does interfere in everybody's lives every day but some don't listen. It's him that puts thoughts into our head and we know to do things or not do things. I can't imagine why one can't see that He is very much alive. Perhaps you are in a very sad and demoralizing situation, at which point you need to get help of some kind. Depending on where you are would depend on who you would ask. Ask God to help; he will hear. Bless you.

In the old Testament God was directly leading His people. Of course this was like trying to herd cats....not an easy task. As for interfering....hmmm, that would be sort of subjective. That is kind of like asking if I am looking around in my refrigerator, if I'm interfering with the food. Its my food. I can do with it what I please. We are God's....thus interference is not an accurate term.
As for why no now? Because Jesus was the fulfillment of His plan to bring us back to Him. It is now up to us to make the decisions, based not on Him trying as He did so unsuccessfully for four thousand years, and disciplining and directing overtly.
As Jesus said to Peter...Blessed are you Peter because you have seen me and believed me, but more blessed are those who have never seen me, yet still believe.

He does "interfere" as you put it. Science cannot explain the disappearance of cancerous tumors before the eyes of the attending physicians, broken bones which heal overnight, the dead coming back to life (personally familiar with 2 instances of this - brain and heart dead and one was at the funeral home when he woke up).

God just doesn't get the credit He used to

The main difference is that this is the age of grace. It is the age of gods divine unmerited favour (grace). It is also man's day, when man can do and say what he likes and god is patient. But soon to come will be the lord's day, when man pays the price for any evil done.

Perhaps, in the early days, God was more active to establish all the
different faiths and churches. Now, as we approach the "End Times" He wants people to come to Him through faith in the Words he has given us. If He totally showed himself, everyone would accept Him and what fun would that be for God?

I believe that he does show us he is there. It may just be harder for us to see it sometimes. We may not be able to control what happens and we shouldn't blame God for situations we think are bad and hurtful. There is a reason things happen the way they do and God is always there for us. If he brings you to it, he will bring you through it! Just remember that.
