Write RELIGION with frosting on a cookie. It's not that hard to get it down someones throat that way.

an example of "shoving your religion down other peoples throats" is when legislators propose a gay marriage amendment because according to the bible (which not everyone believes in) says marriage should be only between a man and a woman.
another example would be a proposed law banning the pledge of allegiance in schools because in it the word "God" is used.
those are just a few examples. I decided to use these 2 examples because the 1st one is Christianity being "shoved" and the 2nd one is atheism being "shoved." I just wanted to show that the shoving goes both ways.

See if this works:
More importantly, I would like to share with you the Truth about the afterlife. I only tell you this because I care what will happen to you when you die. Have you ever told a lie, stolen anything, used God’s name in vain? These are just a few of God’s Moral Laws. When you die, God will judge you on the basis of His Moral Law. If you stand guilty before God of breaking His Laws, He will send you to Hell. If God is Just and Holy, He must punish lawbreakers. The good news is that God provided a way for you to be forgiven and go to Heaven. Jesus Christ died on a cross and rose again to pay the debt for your sins and take your punishment. What you must do is Repent, which means to say you are sorry to God and turn away from your sins. Then put your complete Trust in Jesus Christ. Only then will you be accepted into Heaven, not because you’re a good person, but because you’re a bad person who’s been forgiven. Please give this some thought. Your Eternal Destination depends on it.

By insisting that this country was founded based upon the belief in God and that the Bible is our basis for law, therefore the Ten Commandments should be displayed every courthouse. How's that for an example?
The funny thing about that is that these same people's ancestors likely fled England to get away from the state-established Church of England - they wanted religious freedom!

To "shove reigion down someone's throat" is to continue to harass and harangue someone who doesn't want to be witnessed to. It's a sad state to be in spiritually, but still not a reason for someone to quit witnessing to that person altogether. That person would have to take a different God-inspired approach to avoid offending the person being witnessed to because the Scripture teaches that we re not to "offend in word or in deed."

Perhaps taking a Bible or the Book of Mormon or whatever you believe in and literally shove it down someones throat. I don't recommend this.

Anytime someone preaches when it shuld be obvious that the audience doesn't want to hear it in the first place. Anytime someone continues to preach after you have asked them not to. Anytime someone threatens you with hell or prayer... if they want to pray, fine. But I think their God would be displeased to know they threaten people with prayer. Anytime religious people try to pass laws that limit the freedoms of people outside their religion simply because it is against their own personal beliefs.

When a person is always giving religious advice that no one asked for, and won't stop, even when they know the person they're talking to doesn't want to hear it.
Also when anything that anyone says brings on a reference to god. You say: It's a nice day. They say: Yes, god sent us this beautiful day so we could appreciate his wonders.

I have had someone from here sending me messages telling me god loves me and I should go to him. I asked her several times to stop, but she keeps emailing me telling me how sorry she feels for me and to come to Jesus, blah, blah, blah.
I would call that shoving it down my throat.
I don't push my beliefs on anybody. I used to when I was a Christian.

Jim Jones, Jamestown piping his 'revised' version of the Scriptures right into the captive ears of 'his' captive followers. Too bad he got so full of darkness and away from light.
