I've heard that Israel is a very safe country. (The news lies about other stuff,so I do not doubt they lie about it dangerous there) If you've been there recently, (and only if you've been there please) Is it fairly safe there?

israel is totally safe!!! its just as safe as any other country!!! you just gotta know where to go... like, dont go to ramallah- or to the places that the arabs are bombing right now- and it's all good!!!
do you know how many american tourists there are in israel now?!?!? TONS!!!!!! trust me, i live in israel and we had 8 tourists in our house in the last 12 hours! its all good!!! :-)

I traveled throughout most of Israel last summer and it was very safe. Our group was never threatened nor did we ever feel frightened.
Today, the violence has escalated between Israel and the militant group Hezbollah. Certain areas near the Lebanese border are experiencing attacks.
I'm sure the US State Dept would advise you to wait a bit before booking a trip but Israel is definitely a wonderful place to visit. Don't give up on it yet.

It is safe. In fact, you are less likely to die violently on the streets anywhere in Israel than almost anywhere in the US (including *small towns*). You can go out at night--even in relatively isolated areas--and feel and be safe. If you try hard enough, you *can* find places to spend time that aren't safe (the middle of Independence Park in Jerusalem, half a mile from the nearest street light comes to mind), but even there, you are likely to be pickpocketed and not physically harmed.

Visited twice; lived there for a year in Pisgat Ze'ev. I would not hesitate to go back there today, if I had the $. Israel loves America, & they are very safe.
Trust your gut instinct. As far as I'm concerned; I believe 100 % in G-d. If G-d wants you there, then the safest place you can be is in the center of His will.

Its very safe, as a tourist you are not supposed to go where to the Northern side or by the bordres, u can go to the rest of the cities where its safe. - Center of Israel, Its very safe and its beautiful, dont let anyone tell you other wise!

You're more likely to be killed in a car crash than by a terror attack.
