We worship Him because He is God. Why do you worship whatever you worship?

That's just the foundation of the religion. Those of us raised in it didn't even KNOW the tenants of other religions until we got old enough to get into comparative religions and study what the others were about. My guess is that some ruler somewhere way back when ordered everyone to follow this religion or face being put to death for heresy, and told everyone what they had to believe. That's how a lot of religions seem to work. Interesting topic, though.

Christians worship Jesus because the evidence is there to show he was the son of God, he died and then prooven through historical documents he rose 3 days later and was seen clearly alive by nearly 500 people and he was DEAD completely dead three days earlyier. There is so much evidence provided from science, expeirance, worship, archeology and tons of other feilds to show Jesus was the son of God, not to mention he fills all the Massiah prophrcys of the old Testiment.

Jesus "CHRIST" is the person that CHRISTianity is based on.

The idea is that he was the son of God, and came to earth to give the people a way to get to heaven without perfectly following the Old Testament Law - because no one could keep it perfectly, and Gentiles were not included in the covenant with Israel, either. To give people a way to be reconciled with God, he died on a cross. Because he was without sin, he was a perfect sacrifice to God, and paid for all our sins on the cross. If a person accepts that payment, they go to heaven. If they don't, then they go to hell.

That's the gist of it. I don't give out my email address on this site, though... sorry... You'd probably want to talk to someone who actually believes this anyway.

because Christianity makes a mockery of God. At the same time that Christians claim to worship God as an omnipotent, omnipresent, omnibenevolent being, they make him out to be incompetent bumbler. Or worse. Simple forgiveness is beyond his capacities. God must "sacrifice himself to himself to change a rule he made himself!"

This is not only an absurdity, it is an essential absurdity. It is present in almost almost all forms of Christianity, and one can scarcely remove it and remain a Christian in anything but name. By definition, all Christians worship Christ - in some form - and most worship him as a saviour.

But what, exactly, is he saving us from? Though it varies from church to church, no matter what they call it, it's God himself. A hell created by God, a world fallen as a result of God's negligence, a separation from God imposed... by God.

"It is a counterfeit love that is contingent upon authority, punishment, or reward. True love is respect and admiration, compassion and kindness, freely given by a healthy, unafraid human being."
- Dan Barker, Losing Faith in Faith

Christianity certainly isn't the first religion to promote appeasement of its gods, and if it were merely another supernatural protection racket, it would be bad enough. Unfortunately, it doesn't stop there. Christians elevate appeasement to the realm of "personal relationship", transforming their religion into a true monstrosity.

This is the type of "relationship" that abused wives have with their husbands, that brainwashed hostages have with their captors. It is known in clinical circles as Stockholm Syndrome. Should it come as any surprise that the cries of the church, "The Bride of Christ" sound much like the cries of an abused wife attempting to protect her husband?

"He must beat me."
"I deserve it."
"He has no choice."
"It's for my own good."

These excuses don't work for human abusers, and they work even less well for God. For if God is omnipotent, he must have a choice. And if we are flawed, we are only flawed because that is the way he made us. (No excuses that we ruined his perfect creation. A truly perfect creation does not self-destruct.)

If the Christian God does exist - and I see no reason to believe that he does - he's not worthy of the name.

And that is the ultimate absurdity of Christianity.

Jesus was created by God and there is far too much to it to type it all out here. Instead I have provided a link to the best website for answers I know of.

True Christians don't worship Jesus. Jesus is God's Son, he's not God himself. True Christians worship God.

Because we believe He is the Son of God.

And "true Christians" do worship Jesus because if you're the Son of God, you are of the same nature as God.

In response to what someone wrote, God is not negilgent.
Correction: GOD IS LOVE.

Number two: Christians worship God. And Jesus said, whoever loves me, loves my Father in heaven. And whoever loves me, God will love. So that's is why we praise and worship Jesus. He is a wonderful and excellent leader, a shepard, who lived in this world among a bunch of sinners and DID NOT SIN.
He has enormous wisdom of God and we can learn a lot from him and how to live the right way so that we can live an eternal life through Jesus Christ. HE IS THE WAY, the LIFE and The TRUTH.

Number three: We were made, by God, to be dependent on God NOT to be dependent on ourselves. God wants us to live in peace, to give our problems to him so that we can go on with our lives and enjoy it. God brought Jesus into the world to help us. Jesus died and was raised from the dead. The holy spirit is the helper.

Number four: Doesn't it make you feel good to be praised for something you did that was good? We praise and worship Jesus for laying his life down for everybody in this whole entire world and everyone who has and who will ever exist in this world in the future. Jesus 1. saves us from dying to sin, 2. from being destroyed by God b/c of our unwillingness to change our sinful lives 3. covers us and our faults--his blood purifies and clenses us and washes away our sins. 4. gives us another chance to live the right way, God's way. 5. redeems our relationship with God, God was unhappy with our constant sin and pretty much could've destroy mankind (if he wanted to), but Jesus died to reconcile our relationship with God and allowed us to live and be forgiven for our sins. And one way to be forgiven for our sins is to confess, reprent, ask for forgiveness, pray, and accept the Lord to take control over our lives.

Because Jesus Christ is the Savior. Nobody else can take his place. Read a New Testament and pray over it.
