Actually, I say it more often when I'm mad or annoyed... like...

Jesus Christ! This is the dumbest argument against non-Christians I've ever heard!

Well, except for the banana argument... and the dumb *** foxhole argument. Those two are evidence of a frontal lobotomy.

The same reason we ask in time of trouble from Jesus, Joseph and Mary, If the one doesn't come to help on His own maybe Mom and dad can make Him.

Doesn't mean it really crosses you mind. It's societal, you hear other people say, so you do, too. I've used the term "reap what you sow" before, and I'm certainly not a farmer. If I say crap I don't actually mean... I dunno, what is that supposed to mean anyway? That you crapped your pants? That crap is falling from the sky? That you actually just saw some crap? It's an expletive, just there to show shock or surprise, it doesn't mean anything.

It's an exclamation. Just like saying "Oh my God!"
It's another version of using God's name in vain.
I like your view on people knowing Christ's name in time of trouble even though they don't believe in Him.

It's not like Christian's exclaim "Buddha!" when we stub our toe... or "Oh my Allah!" if we get scared.
interesting thought...
