the 1st question you should ask is are you mature enough and old enough to care for a pet? a kitten can be a full time job and if you go to school and have a active social life you might not want a cat. cats can be very needy and require attention at all hours of the night...if you dont spend enough time with them you can have a sweet kitten turn in to an anti social cat later on.

Convince them that you will take care of it, not make them do it.
That you will keep it in your room, and the sand box in your closet, and that you will clean it out daily. Promise to do whatever they want if they let you have a kitten, then keep your promises, buy a collar and id tag for it. don't worry about shots. The Humane society takes care of that, in advance. I think you deserve to have a kitten and to be trusted. Now if only you can convince your parents, ect. Good luck!

Just get one on your own. Tell them that your going to get your nails done and come back with a kitten and say you found it on the streets when you really just went to a pet store and picked one up. Tell your parents thats all you want. I have a cat and they are SO easy to potty train. Just show them the cat litter and they almost automatically know thats where they should go. But, you always will have the possibility that your cat can get run over by a car or get picked up by coyotes if they are outdoor so i suggest if you get a cat, keep it indoors. They might get fat but they are more cuddly and safer. I have had two cats that were stolen from me by my neighbors. I had to ask them 5 times for my cats back but they kept taking them back. DARN YOU LISA!!

Write them a letter asking for the pet you want. Letters to parents from their children are usually successful. Be sure to include things about how you are older and more responsible than they realize. Also include a few facts about cats, but a sure fire way to seal the deal is to start reading a book about cats and be sure your parents see you reading it.
Good Luck!

Try telling them that it is a good test of responsibility on your part and that you will make sure and care for it and clean up after it and feed it. Tell them that having a pet is part of growing up for most kids and bonding with an animal teaches compassion and caring. Good Luck and Happy Birthday.

Tell them that you will take care or the cat every single day. That you wll feed it, play with it, train it ( to use a littler box), clean up it's messes, and anything else that the cat might do. I hope this helps! GOOD LUCK!!!

If they don't allow, then wait till your older, have a job, get a good education and your own place and you can have all the cats you want. Having a cat requires money to takecare and tons of responsibility.
