HHmmmmm...... Well I have my baby girl ..... I think i would let her speak her mind if not then u wont ever have an open relationship........ so it's good that she told u now u know what to look out for........ Just stay on top of her while she get older and alway talk to her about how had it is to have a chil at a young age.... I have my first @ 16 ...... and i wouldve have my 1st, 1st @14..... so just in case maybe u should ask her where she got that idea from?..... and then when she get older if she still wants it see if one of u'r friend who has a baby will like to take a weekend off so u'r daughter could watch the baby this means "EVERYTHING" that way she can see how hard it is..... I wish my parent would have done that ........ i dont think i would have had my babies at such a young age.........Good Luck

Well personally at 8 i was the same why babies looked so cute and fun and exciting and when people told me they were alot of work and took time I could'nt register what that meant all I thought was cute fun and exciting. But what I'd hope you do is tell your daughter about marraige and love and weddings and how proud you'll be when you see her with a wedding gown. So that it wont just have to be no babies at 16 that's wrong you can't alot of work. It'll be more of get married fairy tale wedding beautiful gown prince charming. Then one day a child that she'll charish like you charish her and a child she can learn to love just as much as you love her and a child that will grow up and make her proud like she's making you. Tell her that you want better for her that you know she is going to be great. And I know you may think she's only 8 and wont understand. But I guarantee she'll undersatand when you tell her that you love her that you are proud of her and you know that she will become great and get married frist before having a baby just because it looks fun are just because it will need her. Let her know that she is special ands that you care most of all and that at 16 she'll have school and soon prom and homecoming and college and a car and so much everything she could ever dream but that she'll need to wait before she has a baby so that she can give her son are daughter the love your giving her. And ask her why she wants a baby so early what's her motive is it because she thinks there cute are fun are maybe deep inside she believes the baby will lover her and care and need her so it will never leave are disapoint her.

i would say that you should follow your heart. if you raised your daughter to take care of herself and that she can talk to you about anything, she will prob turn to you to talk. at the age of 8 kids say some crazy things, and if they see that it happens in their families they may tend to think thats just the way things should be. stay straight forward and just explain to her over the next 8 yrs that it is a hard job raising kids, especially when you are one yourself. if closer to the time you see things that throw a red flag up in the air, possibly do some acting on it. let her find a job and see first hand what the responsabilities are and how much money she wont have or not going out with friends. if she starts to see that her life isnt going to be all peaches and cream maybe she will realize that she wants to be with a man and know that hes going to stay with her through everything. at the age of 16 no matter who the person your with is , more then likely you will grow apart. have different views and likes on things, once you have a kid together your gonna deal with each other for the next 18 yrs.

tell her about the hard things that ur brothers and sisters had to go through. ask her what she wants to be when she grows up and convince her that she'll need to go to college for that and that school is hard if u have to take care of a baby and is not as much fun.
don't scare her or yell at her for it, because that wi;\ll get her fixiated on the idea. and make sure that when the time for the Big Talk comes she knows how to make smart decisions.

She's only 8, things will probably change for her "dreams and wishes" over the next 8 years.
For now, just don't fret. If she continues this for years or becomes sexually active--then let her talk to her aunts and uncles and let them tell her how having a baby so young affected their lives.

Ask you daughter this,"Do you have a car, a house, a job, a lot of money, and are you stable?" If she says no, then tell her to wait to have a child until she is 25.

She has time to change her mind before then. A reality check like a parenting class or taking care of those baby dolls that cry and stuff would really open her eyes.

Sounds like she's learning from family examples. That's usually the best teacher. She may need to see some different examples.

if my daughter was to tell me that I would lock her up forever. But seriously, you have to explain to her that having kids is a lot of hard work. And don't forget to explain to her everything that goes into having and making a baby...including the pain of labor...and give her the best example of it as you can...cause we know how much it hurts!!!!

Just say, "you feel that way now because it seems like fun and you want to be like your aunt, but when the time comes, you'll change your mind because there will be so many other things you'll want to do. And, if you have a baby, you won't have time to do them."
