My wife and I were out with a few other people and we stopped at a Cold Stone by the movies - almost none of the women would have anything! Only about 3 out of the 7 women had ice cream - whats up with that? Having a little bit of ice cream isn't going to crash a diet or make you obese...I feel that society is making women quite self destructive in their quest to look like Paris Hilton, what do you think?

Maybe they just weren't in the mood for ice cream? I'm not the hugest fan, myself. Now, if it were a pretzel stand, ...

If the girls weren't eating ice cream for the sake of their figures thats their business. It's a shame the way society can make women feel, but I certainly don't think having some ice cream with friends is going to make you fat and/or ruin your "diet." It's also quite possible that the girls in your group weren't in to ice cream and maybe just weren't in the mood for it. Of course, I don't know many people that don't like ice cream - I mean, it's ice cream, how can you not like it! LoL

I agree 100%. There's a lady at work who's doing Weight Watchers, and she's convinced that if she has ONE BITE of a chocolate chip cookie, immediately she's going to fall back into her old eating habits and balloon up to 200 lb. over night. It's sad. Pathetic, really. People don't understand that moderation is the key. A serving of ice cream is 1/2 cup. Yes, it has fat and calories, but it also has calcium, iron, vitamin d, vitamin A and a tiny bit of vitamin c. If you deprive yourself of everything, you'll just make your cravings worse. I'm a normal/average size, but if it came down to it, I'd rather die a few pounds overweight and die a few years earlier than die rail thin, hungry, miserable and live what...2 or 3 years longer?

Good one. Weird though, I mean people can eat all they want. Work out later on and loose the calories. Anyway, my friend and I can go anywhere, anytime if we're hungry. Iced Cappuccino, ice-cream etc. We're ready... but then again we're 16 and don't care. We eat all we want and spend 1/2 an hour walking and talking about life. Although, water gets us drunk. I know, weird but ice-cream plus water can make us pretty hyper. It's just for the moment, enjoy life. You won't die or a guy/lady won't hate you if you eat food. :)

Totally! There is also sometimes a dynamic when women get together, "oh no, no ice cream for me..." but then they go home and eat a pint of Ben & Jerry's...
