I don't care about gift giving and Santa Claus, that's fun for all. I just can't stand the Biblebangers who scream at everyone the 'true' meaning of Xmass is the celebration of the birth of Christ. ....why the he77 is it in December then a$$jack? And I don't think that childeren should ever reenact the birth of christ in schools, and then not have anything to do with other cultures as well.
So, no. No complaints about Christmass being a federal holiday, but I will complain if they start calling it "Jesus is Lord and was born on this day and Santa Claus isn't real it's all symbolic that our lord and personal savior Jesus Christ was born on this very day 2006 years ago.....Day"
That would piss me off.

I've always enjoyed Christmas as a kid , and still do. You don't have to be a hard-nosed Christian to like a holiday. Sure many have signs in their yards saying," Jesus is the reason for the season ".
Do we always have to have a reason to have a nice time. If you're visiting in a non-Christian country would you get in the spirit of their holiday, if everybody is enjoying the holiday ?
So now you know of one non-believer who has nothing against Christmas. Of course, I can't speak for anyone else.

Nope. Haven't complained about any other religious holiday that's recognized by the government. With a lot of the USA being Christian, it makes sense for the government to close on those days, otherwise they'd just have a lot of people calling into work on those days.

Nope I'm an atheist and I don't complain because I don't treat it as a religious festival ( I don't think anyone does anymore) I treat it as a national tradition. Christmas is a pagan holiday anyway renamed to make it christian. Say no to jesus www.saynotojesus.tk

I use Christmas (Xmas to atheists) to celebrate Capitalism. That's the #1 reason it's a holiday in the U.S. The religious aspects are just a cover-story to validate it. What do Santa Claus, flying reindeer, an ornament-covered tree, gift-wrapped presents and egg nog really have to do with Jesus anyway? It's just an excuse to spend time with family, give/receive gifts, and not have to go to work/school. You can still celebrate Xmas without it having any religious connotation at all.
But the day someone comes to my door to tell me Santa Claus died for my sins, I'm done with it.

I have never heard anyone who is an atheist complain about it because real atheists don't care about religious holidays. We just have other things to do.
Furthermore we realize that if its government sanctioned there is nothing we can do about it.
So hey a day off is good by me.

I've never complained about it. I still celebrate Christmas but it's more about family and having a good time than about Jesus' birth.
Plus I enjoy the time off!

I always complain about Christmas. I hate those days. The ugly tree, the boring days. I always prefer to lock myself in the house, drag the bed to the livingroom, rent 15 movies and eat cheap spaghetti.

Mmm... well it's a small thing compared to the more general problem it's connected to, which is that religion and government is not nearly as separate as it's supposed to be. But complaining about this particular point would be sort of like complaining that colon cancer gives you diarrhea. Bigger things to worry about.
