As of this morning he is hanging in there! They have his pain under control and he is still fighting to survive. For the latest information on this amazing animal, there is a terrific website maintained by one of the trainers at Barbaro's training place, Fair Hill. They have all the latest inside info about Barbaro.

Keep praying for Barbaro. He is trying so hard to make it, and his caregivers are working so hard to help him do just that! They all need our prayers.

He's not doing so well right now. His leg injury has become worse.
When a human breaks a leg, he/she is given crutches and told to stay off of the said leg for a certain amount of time. Horses, unlike humans, can't really sit down or lay down most of the time and are usually on all four of their legs. Barbaro's leg isn't healing probably because he is putting all 1400 lbs. of weight on his injured leg.

As a member of the press I was at the press conference this morning (and all the press conferences) at New Bolton. The public is not being allowed entry to the center, but people are gathering outside and leaving beautiful gifts, cards and messages.
It appears to be just a matter of time before he will have to be put down.

I'm hearing very bad things on the news here in the suburban Philadelphia area, a county over from the Hospital he's at.
He's got an infection in his "good" leg and they are going to see how comfortable they can make him...if they can't ease his pain they are going to put him down.
Sounds like they may know more within 4-6 hours.
