Pretty much all of the airlines take the same amount of time to go across the water. You can't really slow down a plane much, or it will fall out of the sky.

In total the flight lasts about 5 hours.

do no longer hardship. Flying is exciting once you relax, it is in straightforward terms like being on a bus in straightforward terms much less bumpy and with plenty greater effective perspectives :) take off and landing is slightly frightening for first time flyers via cost while beginning up and once you land that's a sprint bumpy as you touch the floor even nonetheless it is all component of the adventure. I remember my first flight became into from united kingdom to u . s . a . so I had to get used to it or it could be a good longer flight :L

look at the different airlines websites for scheduled flights and their times.

I think flights headed east actually are faster due to the prevailing winds...I could be wrong though. I have flown a couple times from Honolulu to LA, I can't remember the flight time though...I think it was closer to 3-4 hours.

It's 5 hours no matter who you fly. I live in Hawaii and fly to the mainland regularly.

It sounds like you really don't want it to be that long a flight, but sorry, it is. Every time.

They all go the same speed - Air traffic control sets the speed of all inbound airliners. SFO - HNL is like a 5 or 6 hr. trip.
