When you say you need it for work, I assume you mean to drive back and forth to work?
I have a 2003 Dodge Neon 4 door, plain jane model and it runs me 398.50 every 6 months for insurance. But, I'm 25, married, with a home.
The best thing you can do is call around and ask for quotes. Make sure you give them all the info you can. Most will need:
IL DL#
Social Security #
VIN for the vehicle (this can be found on your paperwork or on the drivers side front windshield on a metal plate)
Birthdate
Is the car financed? If not, it'll be much cheaper. If so, get ready for some high rates. Make sure you get quotes for $250, $500, and $1000 deductibles. The higher the deduct, the lower the premium, but it's more you have to pay out of pocket if you're in an AT-FAULT accident.
I don't know what part of Illinois you're in, but you can go to:
www.nationwide.com
www.statefarm.com
www.allstate.com
and look up an agent near you!
Good luck!

Disclosure: I paintings for Unitrin, Inc, yet no longer for their own lines branch. in case you like inexpensive insurance, bypass to an self sustaining agent, and additionally verify countless internet web pages as has been in the previous recommended. None of this could value you something, different than time and hassle, of direction. determine that maximum inexpensive insurance is what you rather need. in specific situations you get what you pay for. in case you have a declare, who will service your account, and what's their attractiveness?
