Unfortunately, New Mexico was colonized long before the Mormons arrived, so the church is not much help for research before that.

Try the National Hispanic Cultural Center, I think they have moved a lot of old records there.

call the mormon church in your area and they will know. They specialize in family history and they know the website to use.I have been to them once to use their computers to research my family history.
