I just recetnly read that the cross of christ may have overcome evil but it did not overcome unfairness. Philip Yancey.

But I have gotten resentful that life can be very unfair and there is indeed a lot of favoritsm even in families and ministries.

What can I do to admit this accpt this and choose to be happy anyway? How can I be fair and objective with others?

Just keep in mind that it could be even more unfair. There will always be someone else who has it harder and worse things to deal with, learn to be thankful that it isn't you.

I'm not sure that there is any way answer this question that would help a great deal. But here goes. First off, remember it was you who changed toward God. The world did not change because you did. Part of being a Christian is learning to accept and be as you've just asked help for. But the source of your strength is not here. Rather its in God, the one you changed for.
Part of the reason He told us to worship together is so that you can be encouraged, and uplifted, in knowing that you are not struggling alone. You have other brothers and sisters who are there to support and help. Find them.

Buy the book, "How to be HAPPY, dammit" ISBN 1 58761 119 8

It's worth the read and helps me feel better whenever I start hating life.

It starts out;

"You. You are born into this world an innocent. Guilt-free. Sugar-free. Caffeine-free. You are noble and pure. Then suddenly...

WHACK

You are spanked. Really hard. This is unfair. You have done nothing wrong. You know this for a fact."

You'll have to read the rest of it ;) But it's awsome.

It can be tough. I try to remember the good things that I have, although like everyone I sometimes resent that others have had it somewhat easier.

I wouldn't take all the money in the world if I had to give up my family. I'd rather be me than anyone else. Someone else may be envying YOU right now!

I used to worry about the same thing. Then I read some books on Gnostic Christianity and the Society of the Novus Spiritus.

They say that we are all experiencing life for God. He wants to experience it all. Good and bad. They also say that we choose all of our life experiences and the harder your life, well... that's how much you wanted to please God.

I was raised methodist christian so of course this way of thinking was quite bizzare. But, it makes me feel much better to think that everything isn't quite as bad as it may seem.

(Sorry. I just reread your question and I didn't really answer it directly, but anyways... hope my answer helped.)

You are being realistic, life isn't fair. That doesn't mean we can't keep going and beat the game once in a while. To be objective and fair takes time and effort, so baby steps darlin', baby steps

There are numerous people who would make fun of the prospect of altering their fates. This is due to the fact that it thinks that nobody gets more that exactly what is written in his destiny.
