I think women are allowed to play if they qualify for a given tournament. But in the past the PGA has made mistakes by giving Michelle Wie and other women special invitations just because she is 16 or they can hit the ball a mile doesn't mean they should be invited to play with men because that is taking away a spot of a harworking indivual trying to make a living.

I agree, if women can qualify for a mens PGA Tour event, then they should get to play. But in Michelle Wie's case, she doesn't have to qualify, she gets sponsors exemptions then can't even make a cut. She should establish herself on the LPGA Tour before trying on the mens tour. Sure, I think that in some cases it helps the sports cause. It broadens horizons and breaks down barriers. If it is encouraged by sponsors then why the heck not?
