Going to the supermarket is so stressful. I dont know how to cook yet so I only know how to make simple things. I would like to eat healthy and maybe lose a pound or two. I never know what to buy and always end up buying bad fattening foods. Please help.

Buy products that are high in fiber, as they can help you feel fuller longer.
Oatmeal is pretty easy to make, and if it's the instant stuff, you can microwave it.
Get plenty of fruits and vegetables, also.

You can start with getting fresh fruits and veggies. Go for color in your meal and you will usually get an abundance of vitamins and minerals. Next, fresh fish such as salmon are good and easy to cook. All you have to do is season them and put them in the oven for around 40 min at 350. Chicken is also a good meal idea......not fried.....you can bake it or broil it....Make sure you get it with the skin already off. If you need chips...go for pretzels or the Baked Lays. Always buy bottled water.....it motivates you to drink your 8 glasses a day....necessary in lossing that few pounds. Yogurt is a good idea if you like it.....they have many brands of non-fat. DO NOT BUY SOFT DRINKS....cutting these out completely can take away a few pounds alone. Watch the type of milk you buy and stick to 2% or nonfat. Butter is another one.......get the fat free butter. Brown rice is also a good additive for a healthy meal. Hope some of this helps.

You can get a lot of frozen veggies and frozen chicken. Cooking is easy. Veggies microwave in a snap and chicken, after thawing, can be sliced into thin strips and stir fried in light olive oil, or lightly seasoned with salt and pepper then grilled. You may also consider some rice to go with your dishes. This all will keep until you are ready to cook, and will give you healthy, filling meals. Stay away from the sodas and chips, too much sugar/carbs. And watch out for Bisquick! It's yummy and you can make everything with it easily and quickly, but it's trans fat public enemy number two, after margarine.

Fruits and vegetables have to be a huge part of your diet. Try some pasta, oatmeal or cereal for the mornings (watch the sugar content), bread and sandwiches at lunch. It's all about making better choices...instead of buying ice cream and Hersey's chocolate, get some yogurt instead.

Start simple. If something has one ingredient it will be healthier than one that has more than one ingredient. Less processed is healthier than more processed.

Therefore, an apple is healthier than apple juice, but both of those are healthier than any power drink that has sugar in it.

Fresh fish and meat, or if you want to go vegetarian, tofu or soy, are more healthy than frozen dinners.

Once you have the individual ingredients, you can go online and get recipes. Or, go online, get recipes for "scratch" cooking and then go get the ingredients.

I think you can see where I am going here.

okay well... start off with looking at the labels of the food products.... never buy anything that has high fructose corn syrup in it or cottonseed oil or anything hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated
high fructose corn syrup is basically fake sweetener that your body doesnt know how to metabolize so in other words you dont burn it off as easily and studies have shown that it is causing braindamage in children and it is carsonagenic (cancer causing)

also do not use margarin-- this is fake butter it is derived from plants so it doesnt sound so bad-- wrong! your body doesnt know how to metabolize this either since its fake so it sticks to the inside of your arteries!

try cooking stuff with a meat and then a variety of veggies my faveorite is soy sauce chicken and pan fried zuccini and onions yummm!
