My cat started screaming about 2 weeks ago. My vet said that it is normal. I took her to a vet, but all I could hear day and night "MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH" And to rate the noice from 1-10 it is like 8 to 10 I locked her in the bathroom I fed her I talk to her I play with her but nothing works. If I won't stop this I am killing her or me. Joke. I can't do anything hertfull to her or me. So give the best shot you've got. If you have an idea that might work 10 points for you.

P.S. Please make her stop.

Get her spayed!!! She's in heat and she's caterwauling for her mate! That's got awful meowing will not stop until she either mates, gets pregnant, or comes out of estrus (heat). I certainly don't recommend you mate her since there are already plenty of homeless kitties looking for homes. Besides, spaying will reduce her risk of gynecological problems such as ovarian, uterine and breast cancer.

If she's already spayed...you must have a Siamese! They never shut up! But that's kind of what makes them endearing. I definitely don't think you should lock her up. That's only going to make it worse. If it's a Siamese cat, all she wants is your undivided attention. Give it to her and she will hush up. Siamese are very affectionate, but demanding as well.

Good luck!

Sounds like your cat is playing (mine dose this at night wile carrying around sock kittens). Or is there another cat in the area ( that she saw in the window once) that she is telling to stay away? (I took mine to a cattery while on vacation and now she yowls every time she uses the bathroom, telling the other cats to stay away) More information on when cat is making this sound would help. Is your cat an older cat? Is she going a little senile? I would also get an second opinion, may bee the vet could prescribe something for your cat to calm kitty down.

Well, this sounds like she's in heat to me. So, you need to get her SPAYED!!!! She's miserable and can't help it, and that's the only thing that sounds like a vet would say is NORMAL based on what you described. YES, it's nerve-wracking, but you need to have her spayed ASAP. And yes, the vets CAN do it WHILE she's in heat. It's hot weather, so it's kitten season, so she's not really going to go OUT of heat until fall. If you're two weeks in now, there should be a short lull -- get her to the vet then and have her fixed. You'll both be much happier afterward!!! Good luck.

Cats are smarter than people give them credit for. Locking her in the bathroom just ticked her off. You need to yell at her when she screams and give her a treat, or food when she's quiet. Is she on dry food? It's better for them and might help. Try open feeding- making food always available. Some cats are better this way while others require a schedule.

You need to get her spayed what she is doing is calling to other male cats because she is in heat...Do not let her get pregnant because that will only stop the noise as long as she is knocked up and she will go into heat after having the kittens

maybe she does need a male friend. She might be getting lonely. Bring the male cat to your house, and put them in a room, and just let them play, and maybe have the male cat spend the night. See if you hear any screams now.

try to take her to get fixed, some cats that are not fixed yet will go into heat and cry and meow (mainly in the summer seasons, cuz thats when they are in heat) if she still does this try and see if she is in any pain of some sort, have the vet do some blood tests or something, hope you can help her :) take care and best of luck

I would find a new vet . Go get some catnip any store a catnip mousey would be the best. She will get all drugged from the catnip. The vet didn't tell you they do that when they are in heat.Get her fixed.
