Most dogs don't. Food generates heat..keeps him warm in winter, and less food keeps him cooler in summer.

Dogs, like people, can have a lack of appetite during the hot, and sometimes humid, summer months - My huskies just nibble here and there throughout the day - as long as he is eating, he should be fine - remember lots of cold fresh water - if he stops eating altogether, that's something he'd need to go to the vet for.

Winter is the best time of year for huskies. That is when he is most comfortable. He's probably too hot in the summer. One factor could be evolution....Dogs in the wild need more fat in the winter simply to keep warm.

Thats Becausein the winter your dog needs to grow a thick coat, how do you grow? You eat! In the summer he doesn't have to eat as much because he wants to shed off its coat.

That's totally normal. My bloodhound mix also goes off his food a bit when it's hot. Checked with the vet and she says many dogs just don't feel like eating so much when it's hot.

It's the same reason why people eat less in the summer- you don't need as much energy to keep warm, so you eat less.
