If you think it might be ringworm, you can put a blacklight on it and sees if it glows. (Seriously, I've worked for vets and they use a mini-light) If it's not ringworm, it might be a hot spot. Hot spots are areas where the skin gets irritated. The hair will disappear from the area and it can look like anything from a burn to hot pink with light green scabby/slimy crust on it. They can become severely infected if not treated. If your dog is long-haired and has mats (knots) in the hair, cut all the hair from the area. The vet can give you a cream to put on it. After that, just keep an eye on it and if your dog starts to lick the area again, put the cream back on it. Usually the cream tastes bad enough to deter the licking. Good luck.

Sounds like ringworm, which isn't a worm, but a fungus like athletes foot. You can use human athletes foot medicine on it, and if you don't see improvement in a few days, take him to a vet for diagnoses and treatment.

Lotrimin is a good one, and is labled for ringworm, but there are others.

well, i can relate to that because my beagle has a bald spot on his belly and it is pink. I don't know if it is the fur that is pink on your dog or whatever, but i reccommend taking him (or her) to the vet.
