Like people earlier stated, the price per barrel will rise regardless of what happens with the ongoing conflicts in Israel. Drivers are partly to blame. Demand is high right now; people keep buying the gas despite the soaring prices. That, coupled with global tensions in Iraq, Iran and North Korea, is adding to the increase in fuel costs. OPEC has not raised its prices or cut back on production, so the price of crude oil has not suddenly spiked. There seem to be no major problems in supply or production of refined fuel, either.

I agree and Like "The Rebel,s" answer the best so far.

Prices will always fluctuate depending on what Arab Sheik farted, and which way the wind was blowing when he did.

Over time however prices will ALWAYS trend UP.

I see in the next 5-10 Years prices being $5-$10 a gallon, average.

(people didn't believe me when I said gas would be over $3 a gallon by 2005. I made that prediction in 2000. OK I was off by a year, but still close. lol

It may, but not because the oil supply or oil transpor or refining is directly affected by Israel's actions.

IIRC, there isn't any significant oil production happening in the Gaza Strip or in southern Lebanon, the two places that just intensified their conflicts. Additionally, the oil transpotation routes are not directly through that area, and most gasoline consumed by Americans is refined in America. Also, IIRC, the U.S.'s #1 import source for oil is Canada.

If gas prices are increased in synch with this Israeli conflict, IMHO it will have more to do with opportunistic oil companies or with skittish petroleum marketplaces that jump every time a bomb goes off in the Middle East.

If a fly were to piss on an oil well in Saudi Arabia, Exxon Mobil would declare a crisis and oil would go up.
