I need a second carseat to put in other people's cars that is super easy to install. Must be for toddler (she's 20 months old). Do you know of any? Please give me many answers so that I can compare prices. Thanks!

A great back up seat or second seat for another car is this one:

We recommend it all the time because it is inexpensive and easy to use. We also recommend that you purchase a seperate seat for each vehicle the baby rides in so installation errors do not occur when switching from vehicle to vehicle. If that isn't possible, at least make sure that each person who transports your child or you if you are the one installing it in the cars, get checked by a certfied tech to make sure you are using it correctly. Good Luck!

we don't have the lower latch hooks in our car (those are the simplest to install) and i have two toddler sized car seats. one is made by britax, the roundabout, and it is the best to install. my parents borrow it whenever they take my son somewhere. it has clips on the back of the seat to lock the lap belt and shoulder belts into place. i am not refering to the belt guids on some seats for when the toddler is old enough to not use the seat's belts and buckles.

the other seat requires me to use that "H" clip - what a pain!

if you can, latch system is definitely the way to go, and at that point you should research the one that has the best saftey record. The Evenflo Titan has an excellent rating from consumer reports. The Britax roundabout was next on their list, but it's also almost 3x the price.

and if you have lower latch hooks available in your vehicle, use the latch belt, BUT NOT BOTH the latch belt and the seat belt!

Look for the car seats that have the latch system. Most newer cars come equipped with it. All you do is strap the three buckles on the hooks(installed in the car) secure them and it's done.

Graco makes a lightweight, easy to install booster. It's also pretty cheap so it's great for a second carseat.

I don't have a recommendation on a specific seat but I can offer a very good website that might help--it takes a while to load, be patient!
