i had 2 male parakeets (green and blue) and they were best buddies. and the green one died so we got 2 new yellow femals parakeets. but the problem is that both of the yellow parakeets dont get along with the blue one. the yellow ones always sit and eat toghether and groom each other, but the blue one always sits by himself and when the yellow ones come close to him, he pecks them and makes them get out of his way. what should i do?

Definitely get a new cage and separate them. The older parakeets got along most likely because they were put together right when you got them? The Blue parakeet now feels like the dominant bird in the cage but it is well known that female parakeets are pretty aggressive. I would suggest splitting them up but putting their cages next to each other so they can interact and this takes out your risk that they might get aggressive towards each other... after time you might want to see if they can co-exist

Your blue parakeet attacks them because he's lived there for so long and two new birds come along and live in his cage all of a sudden, he's probly protecting his territory. hes probly quiet and lonely because his friend had died and misses him just wait a few days he will go back to his old self and get used to the new parakeets

first of all, how long have they been with U? because I got parakeets about 2 months ago and they hated eachother and 2 think that now they are having babies! just leave them alone for a little while. they'll get used 2 each other sooner or later.

Buy a new cage.

Birds are very territorial, and it's not likely that your old ones will ever accept your new ones. You should never, EVER introduce new birds into a cage that already has birds in it.

Put the new girls in their own cage, and let the old bird live out his life in peace. That's really all you can do.

Your bird is grieving for the bird that passed , why don"t you seperate them . Or find another bird for the one that is lost without his friend.
