My Therapist gave me a book to read to help with my severe anxiety. The book is called ANTs and ANTeaters: Cognitive Therapy for the Seven Types. Chapter 10 is the chapter she wanted me to read. If you cannot get a hold of the book let me know and I can scan in the chapter and send it to you through e-mail. It has helped me tremendously. I went from having anxiety constantly through out the day to having it every once in a while. There are also relaxation techniques that you can try. One that my therapist has me do is to find a quiet place to lay down.....tighten all of your muscles for thirty seconds and then completely relax them. It has helped me a lot of the time when I have anxiety at home. If you are driving try counting to ten and turning on some relaxing music...sometimes the music that you listen to can cause anxiety....so a change to some music that is just instrumental can help. You can also get a CD that is music set to the sounds of nature. I hope that this has helped you out. Good Luck...I know how hard it is.

I've never tried Yoga, maybe I should...
I do have the course from the Midwest Center, but my anxiety interferes with me completing the course. The main part of that program is to get rid of negative self-talk, and it provides tools to do so.

I would seek therapy. Medications, yoga and the like are great at treating the symptoms, but therapy would help get to the cause of the anxiety.

get negative thoughts out of your mind and your spirit will calm itself.. don't turn to medications...that is only masking whatever the true issues are. You will have to face them and make changes
